WEEK 7 MINGLE
POPULATION: 18 19
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and it’s the start of a new week!
Good thing, too. After the death of Tartaglia Childe...well, perhaps there isn't any tension at all? Hard to say. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.
Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the eighth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look. Strange things are happening, little sinners. Don't be shy now.
While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.
If you aren't too distracted, that is. For the most part, it may feel as though there isn't anything strange about this week. Everything proceeds as normal and life on the base is calm again. But every now and then, you'll feel a burning in your hand right where your tattoo is as it loses its color and fades to black temporarily. A sudden swell courses through your veins, almost as if being injected with a higher amount of your specific indulgence. You'll find it nearly impossible to do anything else until you act on it, draining the indulgence away and bringing color back to your marking. This won't always happen, and this won't always happen at a convenient time. It may be best to plan ahead. After all...if you ignore it for too long, you may find yourself changing. Those aligned with Envy may find themselves with several new eyes. Those aligned with Gluttony may find claws and a tail beginning to grow. Those aligned with Pride may feel a sharp pain in their head as a crown of thorns embeds itself into their skin. But the sooner you act, the sooner these changes will disappear.
Dedication's sweet, isn't it? Do try to give it your all.
childe....... 3! (no it's town hall)
[ no cake!
but once everyone is here, sasazuka will once again speak up. ]
Okay, so there are a few things we need to talk about, but feel free to bring up anything outside of this.
First, a few people received texts after trial, me included. They are kind of concerning, and we need to discuss the contents of them together. Make sure you read the texts out loud so that the dead can know what actually got through to us, because they were really goddamn glitched.
Second, items were sent out today instead of tomorrow. It's a book that, if you open it while thinking about a subject, you'll get knowledge that you need about it. If you received it, let us know so we can try to figure out how to use them.
Third, any other information you found out just by investigating the different areas here. Remember that we can still look into places even without using the items, so anything we find out might be able to help.
[ he just. shoves a donut in his mouth. he has an entire box and if you try to go near it he will move it away from you.
ALSO, re: text, please just assume we read anything out loud for gy rights. and again, ask mods if you're unsure if it's ok to share something. make sub-toplevels under here about different topics for organization purposes like last time winks ]
DEAD MESSAGES
. . . Several of us received messages from the dead on Saturday evening or Sunday. Hopefully by now most of us have seen at least some of these. But I think it will be useful to gather and read them outloud, so those sending them will know what parts of the message are glitching. I don't intend to read the parts that were a personal message - just know that those have been conveyed to the intended recipients, but portions of them glitched as well.
[She will show anyone who wants to see the actual image on her phone.]
There's a glitch, then "least one other want all of us dead. Others maybe more hesitant, but this seems to be their win condition. Be careful. Keep looking - " more glitches. "Ask that" - glitch - "his favorite snack." And "Indulge." The message is signed D.
. . . I still don't like you, Ashiya Douman. But it is appreciated. And to all assembled, context has made it quite obvious that the missing names at the beginning are those of particular Avatars.
no subject
So... participants for sustenance and power, an inappropriate emoji use, and then something about discarding after and the Avatars are backup? The rest is unreadable.
no subject
[ here is ming yi! joining harrow and also looking a little despaired up with starry eyes and the full tear tracks down his face and throat, where he pulls out his phone to read aloud/show his own message.
he doesn't indicate who he believes might have sent it - he seems to be observing everyone gathered on that particular point. ]

Dear Sheila: Kaz and Aoi here! We're doing fine, except that I, Kaz, recently... [A pause.] Something that starts with an f? And something that got totally fucked on its way to my phone, except that I can kind of make out four words in the middle. "How I died," and "fucked." So, that's not great. Then it says... snack? A line break. Someone something, something. Anyway, we're fine other than that. Peace! Hi.
[... And then she loudly slurps from a large travel cup, crunching down on something after the sip. It's probably ice. Sheila, please be kind to your teeth.]
no subject
[ vira will read aloud a message and show her phone to whoever. softly: ]
...Beau, Tamaki, and others are gone. There is no way to save them.
[ she'll let people digest that, but there's more: ]
Then there's a severely glitched section—I can only make out the word "integrated." And "couldn't fix." Something with "avatar" and "kill you all."
More glitching. My best guess is something about working theories, where opinions may vary. Envy liked it, Pride did not.
The last line is referencing that there are other dead than the participants we've lost.

[ Since he’s a bit worried of Avatars possibly tuning in.
But this one is his! And he guesses since Vira named names, he will, too. ]
“Avatars need us to die for their wishes.” Sad? Emoji.
It gets glitched here, but I think it says “they knew when they invited us.” Somewhat glitched, “Lust and Wrath got too attached to us and might help us?”
“But don’t trust any of them! Especially Pride.” Crown emoji, broken heart emoji.
A couple of lines here I can’t read.
Signed Misamisa sparkling heart emoji Lucaluca croissant emoji.

magnifying glass - the machine
So, I ended up using my magnifying glass on the new room with the machine this morning.
[...]
I didn't see much, unfortunately. The room did look a little different - the floor was made of concrete, and it was much darker and more... dank, I suppose is the word? There were tufts of fur and some slime scattered about, and though there was a machine, and it was operational, it didn't look quite as... put-together, I suppose, as the other one did.
Then the walls started to shimmer, as though something was vibrating, and I heard purring. The creature came up from behind one of the chairs and - well, it recognized me when it saw me, and wasn't exactly pleased to see me. [...] Probably because I kicked it last time we met. Anyway, it tried to attack me, but got tangled up in wires.
It said... [she sighs. okay. well. for the sake of reporting accurately, she'll try to mimic the mechanical uwuspeak.] "Pwaytime... over..."
And then the lights went out, my eyes started to hurt, and - the next thing I knew I was out in the hall, covered in slime.
That being said, I think it might be safer for any of us who have had direct confrontations with the thing to not go seeking it out when we're looking for information. I was lucky it got stuck - but I very easily could have been unlucky.

It brought up wanting to play on Thursday night, too. [ like a toddler... ] We still have a few more rooms to investigate - six more, and only two more eyeglasses. Have we investigated those rooms without them? Or, perhaps it would be useful if anyone had any ability to copy items, anymore.

POST-MURDER BENEFITS
I don't think it's actually super relevant to what we have to do now, but I thought it'd at least be worth mentioning that if you committed a murder and got away with it here, you can choose between either receiving an item from home or a power from your Avatar.
The power I got didn't come from a text - Sloth-san just held my hand and it... happened? [he shrugs, but also seems to roll out his shoulder after as a reflex] Just in case people were wondering if anyone got something from it.
[but it's pretty small compared to actual new stuff]

BOOK CALL??
anyway, she waves ]
I've gotten a book, too, so show of hands on how many of those we've gotten. If we know how many we have, we can have a better idea what we might be able to ask about or whatever. [ she clearly hesitates and takes a bite of this donut she absolutely stole from takeru ] I've also gotten an extra power from the Avatars. It lets me teleport myself and up to two people to an important location exactly where I need it, even if I don't know why it's important.
[ so. there's that. ]

Including us two, there were five people who could have gotten it.

MINI CYOA - MACHINE ROOM
Put Frumpkin in it [why are you admitted you put the cat in the machine, Molly], but even in his dreams he's seen glimpses of the creature around.
Then in our heads, when we dreamed of the creature it seemed to gain independence of our thoughts. Almost cat-like, so. Ah. Apologies if we taught it something with Frumpkin's head, I suppose. It licked our faces and left-- [he turns his face to the non-peacock tattoo'd side, where there's two lines of blisters up his cheek.]
Started messing with the buttons and wires at that point, and it reacted - showed us a dream of the creature, most likely. It went up the elevator shaft to the floor the Avatars stay on in the Tip, and tentacles went under the doors.
After a moment it felt ... refreshed, and powerful. So clearly it's draining them of something. Or dreaming of draining them of something.
Left us feeling on death's fuckin' door. So. There's that.

dead messages / avatar discussion
[She frowns, chewing on her lip for a moment.]
I wound up talking to Lust. I think it important we consider both that we don't know where the dead are receiving their information from and much of it is lost in translation, and that the Avatars have at various points withheld critical information. In my opinion, this information ought to be taken with appropriate skepticism, not accepted as the truth.
I just think it is worth everyone hearing what is being said to avoid endless repeat conversations.
So. Lust says that they did not invite us here. We simply appeared. What they knew from the start is that if we began killing one another, it would likely begin a series of events which would end with all of our deaths, and this would also likely allow the Avatars to receive their wishes and be free of this place.
Lust also said there were always differing opinions about this. Some were fine with these events, and some were hopeful that there would be another option. They don't know what such an other option would be. However, what happened before did not involve the participants receiving items to learn more about the creature or corresponding with the dead, which is the root of any hope that there may be an outcome other than all of our deaths.
If you've also talked to any of them about this, you may as well share what you feel you can.

SIMULATION ROOM FINDINGS
There's a bank vault in the simulations room. We found a computer inside, or a pretty big monitor, at least, but it was covered with mold and rust and broken, kind of... cracked from the inside out? By, uh... some kind of mound of flesh... It was small, but it was pulsing, too. It was really gross! And it made a kind of chirping noise before it went back into the computer. The screen fixed itself, and we saw some text roll across it. It just said "more" three times in a row, and then... An X and a D? I don't really know what that might mean.
[i hate it here so much]
There were nine figures in the room behind us and we couldn't see what they looked like, so - it's not hard to guess who they might have been. But we got the feeling that they opened up the door...? Because they wanted to see what they would find.
