WEEK 7 MINGLE
POPULATION: 18 19
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and itβs the start of a new week!
Good thing, too. After the death of Tartaglia Childe...well, perhaps there isn't any tension at all? Hard to say. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.
Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the eighth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look. Strange things are happening, little sinners. Don't be shy now.
While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.
If you aren't too distracted, that is. For the most part, it may feel as though there isn't anything strange about this week. Everything proceeds as normal and life on the base is calm again. But every now and then, you'll feel a burning in your hand right where your tattoo is as it loses its color and fades to black temporarily. A sudden swell courses through your veins, almost as if being injected with a higher amount of your specific indulgence. You'll find it nearly impossible to do anything else until you act on it, draining the indulgence away and bringing color back to your marking. This won't always happen, and this won't always happen at a convenient time. It may be best to plan ahead. After all...if you ignore it for too long, you may find yourself changing. Those aligned with Envy may find themselves with several new eyes. Those aligned with Gluttony may find claws and a tail beginning to grow. Those aligned with Pride may feel a sharp pain in their head as a crown of thorns embeds itself into their skin. But the sooner you act, the sooner these changes will disappear.
Dedication's sweet, isn't it? Do try to give it your all.

I think it's hard.... I told Sloth-san I wanted to defeat the creature - but it's sort of like... if it's really the only thing that can get us our wishes, then what would we be left with after?

[idiot. he clears his throat and continues]
We can think about it though. I keep thinking that if the creature's what promised us and the Avatars the wishes in the first place, how do we get our wishes without relying on the same thing that played with us the whole time?

Some of us don't have a choice except for wishes to be on the table, Vira-san.
But if we agree that's one of the most important things to us... We can probably use a book for it.

he just places a hand on mineo's shoulder and squeezes lightly, before letting go.]

he's fine, just gotta make some things clear]

[Her expression is neutral, but serious.]
It isn't wrong to consider all of the possibilities, especially when so much of what we have been told has been untrue. But we all understand that wouldn't be a trivial thing to accept, for some more than others.

[Sometimes, you just go around saying shit like this just so confidently. Sorry about it.]
But I don't think we have time, while that thing is stalking us.

she takes another sip from her drink, frowning.]
That's a solution I'd be here for.
no subject
I get it.
[he's not mad at vira or anyone for the suggestion, even if his expression's a little bit more closed off than usual]
... so we gotta find out more about if it's true, and how we get there. That's all.

[. . . After a second, she'll place a hand on his arm, gently for one moment before taking it away.]
I don't have any intention of leaving here without forcing the promises made to be accounted for. One way or another.
no subject
... yeah. Yeah, I know. [a big sigh] Sorry. I'll focus - you're right that even if the initial promise wasn't true, we'll just figure out a new way to get what we're owed.
That's all we can do.
no subject
[ not that she would deny them, but is it even possible? who knows by now. ]
You may suggest that we use a book to figure out a way to ensure that wishes come true, if that is your priority.

so he nods.]
... yeah. That's been my suggestion. Agreeing to come here because there's something we all want badly enough for it - that's what started this, right? At least on our end.
There's other mysteries too - like how we handle the monster and if we can get the deceased back... but we can make a list and then prioritize it.
no subject
Hopefully we'll get more resources as the week goes on, but yes. We'll have to compile our most pressing questions and see what we can do.
Wishes, saving the dead, helping the Avatars, preventing this from happening again and learning what triggered it in the first place... there's a lot of ground to cover.

Vira, understand that for some of us, giving up on our wish is as good as consigning ourselves to a cold grave. It is victory here, or death.
no subject
[ she's going to bristle if someone implies she's somehow missed that over the past two months. ]
However, what I'm not certain of is that we understand the nature of these wishes, or if they were ever truly promised to us at all. If it depends on this creature, we will have to make a decision on whether to appease it, try and eliminate it, or try to find a way around it.
There is so little we've been told that I am doubtful that it's as simple as indulging.
