Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and it’s the start of a new week!

Good thing, too. After the death of Tartaglia Childe...well, perhaps there isn't any tension at all? Hard to say. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.

Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the eighth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look. Strange things are happening, little sinners. Don't be shy now.

While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.

If you aren't too distracted, that is. For the most part, it may feel as though there isn't anything strange about this week. Everything proceeds as normal and life on the base is calm again. But every now and then, you'll feel a burning in your hand right where your tattoo is as it loses its color and fades to black temporarily. A sudden swell courses through your veins, almost as if being injected with a higher amount of your specific indulgence. You'll find it nearly impossible to do anything else until you act on it, draining the indulgence away and bringing color back to your marking. This won't always happen, and this won't always happen at a convenient time. It may be best to plan ahead. After all...if you ignore it for too long, you may find yourself changing. Those aligned with Envy may find themselves with several new eyes. Those aligned with Gluttony may find claws and a tail beginning to grow. Those aligned with Pride may feel a sharp pain in their head as a crown of thorns embeds itself into their skin. But the sooner you act, the sooner these changes will disappear.

I think if we're going to solve it, we can't rely on them to be able to do it, or even help necessarily. I'm sure some of them will try. I'm sure some won't. I don't know that they have the power to do anything - it is our hands. Whatever that thing is, or some other power even beyond it, that's what's in control now.

That said, they all knew from the start they might need us to die, no matter how much they pushed it down the line. They've certainly all sympathetic reasons. Reasons I even understand. Reasons I might have made a similar decision, in their place.

But many of them also acted as my friend over the past few weeks, all while knowing that my wish, the thing that I cannot fucking leave here without [beau] was already gone. This isn't a matter of trust, anymore, because I cannot trust them. It is a leap of faith. I'm willing to try it, but fuck if I'll be told I can't be confrontational about it.

I do know that the Avatars themselves were tied directly to it. It's been taking energy from them each week - on Fridays, and whenever else it decides to. Sometimes as a punishment. The effect of it was replicated in the adventure that Shi Qingxuan and the others went on.

It's not so much what they did to it, but what it did to them - I believe that's what got it so out of control. It's been feeding off of them each week. I've been in contact with Wrath every Friday, and they're so exhausted by it that they can barely move each week.
