Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and it’s the start of a new week!

Good thing, too. After the death of Tartaglia Childe...well, perhaps there isn't any tension at all? Hard to say. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.

Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the eighth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look. Strange things are happening, little sinners. Don't be shy now.

While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.

If you aren't too distracted, that is. For the most part, it may feel as though there isn't anything strange about this week. Everything proceeds as normal and life on the base is calm again. But every now and then, you'll feel a burning in your hand right where your tattoo is as it loses its color and fades to black temporarily. A sudden swell courses through your veins, almost as if being injected with a higher amount of your specific indulgence. You'll find it nearly impossible to do anything else until you act on it, draining the indulgence away and bringing color back to your marking. This won't always happen, and this won't always happen at a convenient time. It may be best to plan ahead. After all...if you ignore it for too long, you may find yourself changing. Those aligned with Envy may find themselves with several new eyes. Those aligned with Gluttony may find claws and a tail beginning to grow. Those aligned with Pride may feel a sharp pain in their head as a crown of thorns embeds itself into their skin. But the sooner you act, the sooner these changes will disappear.

I spoke to Wrath.

She's willing to help, but I don't know how much she will be able to. She's already certain she will be punished for saying as much as she did. As I said, I don't know that we can rely on them. She also said we seemed to be doing better than their group ever did.

It's going to be us - this group - who solves this, if we do, I imagine.

Yeah, I get that feeling too.

If I understand correctly, it's really a matter of . . . they can try to feed us to it, get their wishes - some of which are themselves a matter of life and death - and leave, or they can try to help us with no obvious path to doing so. This may end in all of us dying anyway, and they lose their lives and wishes as well.

So. . . I do think we all ought to consider whether any of us would be so altruistic as to try and help if circumstances were reversed. I think interpreting sympathy as meaning intention to pull off a miracle and save us would be a mistake. I also think interpreting the fact that some of the Avatars still intend to feed us to it as malice on their part would be a mistake.

It's more a matter that whatever we do next, we need to do for ourselves. We need to stop assuming they're here for us and will provide us with answers. We can each individually decide how much we want to listen to what any of them have to say on a personal level, but in terms of planning - we must work with the dead and with one another.

Yes - Wrath suggested to me that none of them actively wish for our deaths. I countered with the idea that the bar should likely be actively wanting us alive. Also that Gluttony would sell us for a song, I imagine, but they've been pretty clear on that front. At least to me!

Just be careful how you take their word on things.

Mm. When I spoke to Gluttony, they said that they'd just feed me to the creature if I started being difficult. But if I don't get in their way, they won't get in mine.

So, we find out what we can this week, and see what we can do with that information.

While some Avatars may be sympathetic, I think this level of neutrality is the most we can hope for.

We can organize more efforts at investigating amongst ourselves this week, at least.

Plus, there's the books we got this week. We really should figure out what to do with them.

Do you think it would be cheating to think about the creature while we open it? Or... "how to save the dead"? "How to save ourselves and the Avatars"?

Depends on how broad the subject can be. But asking for our win condition isn't a bad idea, either.

We don't know how we get our wishes yet, right? Or even how do we get wishes for both us and the Avatars? Isn't that like - the easiest way to sort of reconcile our issues?

I'm not sure. And we only know we have three for now, so we'd have to be careful about it.

I guess we can wait to see what else comes up.

Learning more about how to appease or ultimately defeat the creature seems paramount. All we really know is that we're meant to indulge... Though I'd like to know more about what the dead alluded to as well, with their thoughts on 'integration' and whatnot.

Mm. I know the Avatars seemed split on what we would have to do with it, although now I'm not sure how true that is.

Yes, I think their thoughts will be dictated by their perceptions and doubts—they don't seem to know the ideal solution any more than we do.

But if these books and tools did not exist for the previous group, the answers we find here may make the difference.

I think it's hard.... I told Sloth-san I wanted to defeat the creature - but it's sort of like... if it's really the only thing that can get us our wishes, then what would we be left with after?

Are you concerned we may be stranded here if we drive the creature away? I assume it's possible something else brought us here, if the original group came before the creature had grown up.

Actually, I wonder if perhaps the creature lives on a different version of the station.

Meimei mentioned that she saw the machine room when she observed it, but it was different. The same, but different - and it had that sticky, hot furred appearance. I wonder if "integration" is putting those together.

Or, perhaps, if 'integration' is wherever the dead are, too, and returning them.

It fits with what they've been telling us all along - to keep indulging and to remember what we came here for.

None of us plan to give up on our wishes. Feels pretty stupid to expect they'll give up on theirs.
