WEEK 4 TRIAL
POPULATION: 23
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Wrath, Greed, Despair and Sloth patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
Wrath is sitting on the table, organizing notes and gently sliding them to Greed. Sloth is here with what looks like a dog-shaped neck pillow sticking out of the edges of their hood. The spiraled horn on the top of their head is longer and sharper. Greed is leaning against the table in an attempt to be present, hands tentatively reaching forward to take the papers from Wrath. Despair has taken their usual seat, just vibing here as they quietly observe. Oddly, Sloth, Greed and Wrath are not in their cloaks today. Instead, they are in sweatpants (shorts in Wrath's case) and cozy hoodies in their color with their symbol printed on the front. The hoods are pulled over their heads however. Once everyone has settled, Sloth chimes in.
Everyone has nine hours again! You can do it! Last time, you even did it a little early! Wow!
Hello, and welcome to your fifth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.
Good luck, and have fun!

INVESTIGATIONS
THE HOUSE
We made it! Oh! Everything is on fire! Whoa...
[so, the first thing is...
everything is on fire!! the second thing is, sloth starts off in front of them.]
Better stay behind me! Don't want to report back that you all, like, stepped in fire!
no subject
Was Envy not having a bad enough week? [ WHO DID THIS ] Sloth, are you going to have to stay with us - we won't be able to split up?
no subject
We need to make it to the dining room at least. I think we'll find something there. Sloth-san, we kind of need to be in a hurry since the evidence might get destroyed before we can even find it.
[he looks like he's thinking about running ahead. don't let him do that. but he's getting as close as he can to stepping forward.]
no subject
Lead the way, Sloth.
no subject
[mineo, you are going to step in fire. sloth bobs ahead of them in the air, and starts off up the steps to the door. they push open the door without seeming bothered by any heat behind it. when they go inside, lingering flames bend away from them and the others, like it is being blown by a hard and cold wind.]
Dining room first then? Okay!
[they head in that direction, but--something crunches under gu yun's feet first, and the mineo's, and then molly's if they are following. hope they are all wearing shoes because if not, they will cut their little feetsies.]
no subject
anyway. he's in the front so, once his feet crunch into something, he immediately picks up his boots and reaches down to swipe up a piece of whatever it is with his sleeve. ] Careful.
Let's check every room - there's no sense in not being thorough while we can have this. [ ill let everyone else detail check whats up with the crunchy stuff ]
no subject
.... I really doubt a dog would just run into fire but...
[to be on the safe side, mineo will bring a hand up to his mouth to whistle, as if expecting a dog to respond to it. can they hear anything from elsewhere in the house afterward?
also as they walk through heβs going to look? down? and around? what does the path to the dining room even look like, is there anything by the entryway, the walls, the ceiling besides fire? what are they stepping on.]
no subject
sticking by the others - trying to get a look at whatever's in gu yun's sleeve-hand but since the others have that covered he's also going to take care of CEILING CHECK (looking up). Does the fire seem to start from anywhere in particular in here? Or does it look like it's coming from another room.]

THE CITY
it's a city, just like always, with the shops, restaurants, and other such things all chilling. there are various people wandering. there's also a blood trail on the ground that leads from outside the room into the city!]
Be careful, and holler for me if you need. [wrath tells them.]
no subject
[Well. She'll first things first examine that blood trail? Time to ask a lot of nasty questions about blood. What is the width of the trail? How wet is the blood? How thick is it? Does it have any particular pattern to it, or does it just seem like a mark of something being dragged.]
no subject
[ thank god harrow is looking at the blood trail so grace doesn't have to. first she will look at the sky to make sure there are no shrimps.
then well, while harrow is examining the blood trail, grace can start following it? where does it lead. and also, if she whistles, will a dog show up ]
no subject
[And she's off. If Harrow is looking at the blood and Grace is following the red murder road to find Lassie, Sheila will carefully make her way over to the storefronts. Is there anything off about the windows, entrances, the buildings themselves...? What about the people? Are they looking the same as always?
Also, this bitch will look up at the sky to make sure shrimp aren't about to descend from the heavens. Hewwo?]
no subject
there are no shrimps. grace can continue to follow it off into the city - it leads in the direction of a cluster of shops and restaurants, but there's a few puddles and an old trail that smears off in another direction, so it gets lost.
if grace whistles, she'll hear a dog bark in the distance.
the people look the same as always, nothing weird about the other buildings...]
no subject
[She'll reach into her pocket and hand her. Part of a wrist.]
To lure the dog.
[Thanks, Harrow. Anyway. Does it look like the splatter of someone walking through here while bleeding? Or does it look like something else? She'll also start to follow it into the city, trying to note anywhere else that looks odd or has blood.]
no subject
... Thanks?
[ but anyway yeah grace is on a dog quest now, heading off in the direction of the bark and whistling again!!! and holding a wrist bone. that connects to nothing, and not the hand bone ]
C'mere puppy! Helloooo? Here boy! Or, well, girl, whatever.
no subject
[SHE SOUNDS? SO RELIEVED? TO DISCOVER THERE WAS (PROBABLY) NO POM MURDER?
But, okay. What about that cluster of restaurants and buildings? Is there anything odd if she peers inside? She will check out the alleyways and backs, if there are any. Additionally, in what direction does the blood smear off in?.]

LAUNDRY ROOM
where do they decide to look first?]
no subject
Considering the fire and blood evidence, we'll see what we find.
no subject
[lenore will start opening up the washers, one by one, and checking inside.]
no subject
[ Medb will take a look at the cleaning supplies (ie. detergents, etc.) and see if those have been disturbed. ]
no subject
the cleaning supplies look similarly normal, but not in the 'no one used these' sense, just that nothing is knocked over or anything. unless she's been monitoring how much of anything is here, that's all there is to notice with these!
as lenore starts opening up the washers, she will find that when she pulls her hand away from the handle of one, it comes away with a little smudge of soot.]
no subject
[ Not seeing anything there, he'll go to some of the dryers, since he hasn't seen Lenore's hand. ]
no subject
Looks like something burnt touched this one.
[she sounds pleased about that. so she'll check out that washer more thoroughly! is there anything else to notice about the exterior, on closer inspection? anything inside?]
no subject
She comes over to where Lenore is. ]
Are any of you wearing gloves?
[ Wow, this is the first thing she should've asked. ]
But since there was a fire, that seems to be a hit.
