Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

trial. noon.

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Wrath, Greed, Despair and Sloth patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Victim: Eleanor Shellstrop

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

Wrath is sitting on the table, organizing notes and gently sliding them to Greed. Sloth is here with what looks like a dog-shaped neck pillow sticking out of the edges of their hood. The spiraled horn on the top of their head is longer and sharper. Greed is leaning against the table in an attempt to be present, hands tentatively reaching forward to take the papers from Wrath. Despair has taken their usual seat, just vibing here as they quietly observe. Oddly, Sloth, Greed and Wrath are not in their cloaks today. Instead, they are in sweatpants (shorts in Wrath's case) and cozy hoodies in their color with their symbol printed on the front. The hoods are pulled over their heads however. Once everyone has settled, Sloth chimes in.

Everyone has nine hours again! You can do it! Last time, you even did it a little early! Wow!

Hello, and welcome to your fifth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

What? Like a popsicle?

[She will continue struggling with this dish rack until it's out of the way, of course. Is there anything on its other side, by the way, or on the floor in the spot where it used to be?]

[off goes the dish rack! they now have access to the walk-in freezer. i said brr, it's cold in here, must be some sinners in the atmosphere.

the two of them can see as they walk in, a bunch of frozen food just at the doorway. a bag of frozen peas, a chicken breast, a couple of pork pieces. the peas are burst open and all over the floor, and the chicken breast is dented.

the blood around it is more like drops, in a trail that staggers towards the freezer. as for the food processor, it looks like it was a casualty of war - aka it fell off the counter and broke. when she moves the food processor, she finds... notes.

grace also finds a bloody kitchen towel sticking out of the garbage, at first glance! fun. there's a dripping sound coming from the sink, while she's looking at the trash can.]

[Me, putting this tab aside for later so reluctantly so I can write this tag. She'll kneel down and look through the frozen food - any blood or cocktail sauce or anything?

She'll also check the inside of the door of the room they just walked into - any marks on the door? Anything on the handle?]

anyway let's grab the bloody kitchen towel for later, make sure there's nothing hidden in it, and then go look at the sink. what is dripping ]

The peas are fucked! Does that count as something?

[Anything weird in the peas or dented chicken? How is the chicken dented, anyway. Like, is the shape just distorted like it was used as blunt weapon, or does it look more like someone tried to snap it in half? Is there any sign of how the bag of peas broke?

She will look behind the frozen food, too, as well as the the ceiling. The walk-in freezer door will get a close look, as well. Can this door be opened from inside, or nah?]

[a few drops of blood are among the frozen foods. the chicken is dented in a way where it's like, smushed against one side. maybe like it was a blunt weapon? but there's no blood on it or anything. the bag looks like it maybe caught the handle and tore?

when harrow checks the inside of the door she'll find a lot of damage. there are little puffs of ice on the door where it looks like something maybe hit the inside of it, as well as tiny dents and a few long slashes across the surface. the door looks like it can be opened from the inside.

sheila looks past the frozen food to see something shiny on the floor.

nothing in the kitchen towel, it is just bloody. when grace pulls it free of the trash she gets a whiff of cocktail sauce smell.

the sink is dripping! just water. what's she looking at here specifically.]

[Does it look like the chicken was banged against the door? What do those slashes look like? Were they made with a knife or a sword? Is it what Sheila is about to find?]

[ someone else can taste the towel i am not doing it. anyway, she'll look around and in the sink? also under it if she can do the thing where you open the cabinet under to check if there's something there? and take a look down the drain as well just in case.

is there anything on the sink knobs too while i'm at it idk is it just the faucet that's dripping or ]

[Yeah, she's going to grab the broken bag of peas or something and use it to protect her hand as she nudges the shiny thing towards her. They're in a freezer and she doesn't want her fingers sticking to anything? Thanks.]

[how are you checking the chicken bang. the slashes look like they were made by something small and sharp.

when grace checks the sink knobs, on the back of one of the handles there's a very small smudge of red. the faucet is just dripping! some of the water droplets in the sink are tinged pink.

the shiny thing is a butcher's knife, which is next to a lower shelf that seems disturbed.]

[Keep fucking that chicken. She's just going to see if like. The spots where ice is broken up on the door are vaguely chicken shaped? Also, is there anything else up in here? She'll check the ceilings and walls.]

... I found a knife. Is there anything else in the kitchen, Grace?

[Anyway, she will take a closer look at the knife to check if there's blood or anything weird on it, still holding it with the bag.

And what's wrong with the lower shelf? How is it disturbed, exactly?]

[yeah it matches. i just wanted to make harrow press the chicken to the door because i think it's a funny mental image. nothing on the ceiling or walls.

it smells coppery. lick the knob see what happens. the faucet knob - you know what i'm leaving that in.

there's a very faint icy outline of a small curled up body on the lower shelf. there's no blood on the knife or anything!]

[She's going to look through the rest of the stuff on the floor of the freezer to see if there's anything else they missed. She'll also take a moment to look through the shelves of the dish rack and make sure nothing was missing there.]

A kitchen towel with blood and probably cocktail sauce on it, there's a little bit of blood on the faucet? There was a knife that was missing, but I guess Eleanor took it. I think the killer washed off in the sink?

Oh, and I found her hot or not list.

[ anyway, she is not licking the knob, but she is taking a few blurry pictures of the state of everything ]

Is the outline roughly Eleanor shaped, or even smaller than that? No smudges or icy imprints on the knife handle either, right? She will take a sad picture of this.

I have no idea what else to check, so she will get on her tip toes and look at the topmost shelves? Anything there? Mystery.]

[there's just random frozen food on the floor that seems to have met a similar fate as the banged chicken. nothing in the dish rack. nothing on top shelves. the outline is like, eleanor sized, as far as they can tell. the knife's handle isn't as icy as the rest of it.

also there's no cocktail sauce on the towel that grace can see, just as an aside.

wrath is chilling by the doorway to the kitchen, on their phone.]

Wrath, I think we've finished. If we're wrong enough in that assumption that you can say so, would you let us know?

[Coming out of the kitchen.]

[ just going to doublecheck to see if there's any cocktail sauce in the garbage can to explain why it smelled like that since there's none on the towel itself. just BLOOD ]

[She will take another look at the walls, floor, ceiling and furniture to make sure they didn't overlook anything obvious but, yeah. What Harrow asked.]

[there's a whole bunch of empty cocktail sauce containers in the garbage! other than that there's nothing apparent from just that last look over.

wrath nods a little.]

I think you guys have a pretty clear picture of what happened, sure. You want to go back?
