WEEK 4 TRIAL
POPULATION: 23
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Wrath, Greed, Despair and Sloth patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
Wrath is sitting on the table, organizing notes and gently sliding them to Greed. Sloth is here with what looks like a dog-shaped neck pillow sticking out of the edges of their hood. The spiraled horn on the top of their head is longer and sharper. Greed is leaning against the table in an attempt to be present, hands tentatively reaching forward to take the papers from Wrath. Despair has taken their usual seat, just vibing here as they quietly observe. Oddly, Sloth, Greed and Wrath are not in their cloaks today. Instead, they are in sweatpants (shorts in Wrath's case) and cozy hoodies in their color with their symbol printed on the front. The hoods are pulled over their heads however. Once everyone has settled, Sloth chimes in.
Everyone has nine hours again! You can do it! Last time, you even did it a little early! Wow!
Hello, and welcome to your fifth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

[to be on the safe side, mineo will bring a hand up to his mouth to whistle, as if expecting a dog to respond to it. can they hear anything from elsewhere in the house afterward?
also as they walk through he’s going to look? down? and around? what does the path to the dining room even look like, is there anything by the entryway, the walls, the ceiling besides fire? what are they stepping on.]

sticking by the others - trying to get a look at whatever's in gu yun's sleeve-hand but since the others have that covered he's also going to take care of CEILING CHECK (looking up). Does the fire seem to start from anywhere in particular in here? Or does it look like it's coming from another room.]

what gu yun has picked up is... glass! on the floor by their feet is more glass, broken and scattered over scorch marks. gu yun's piece of glass has part of a fancy label on it, and the letters TE.
the hall toward the dining room is near the stairs. things have been knocked off the walls, and other things have been strewn on the floor coming or going into the dining room itself. sloth moves just a bit ahead so that the flames bend out of the way for them more.]

he'll remove his upper robe to scoop up as much of it as he can safely, though, wrapping it in the silk carefully. look no slamming numb limbs onto potentially painful glass shards this time arent we proud he's being careful
otherwise, he's gonna walk with the others through the dining room itself, making sure to stay within sloth's radius and keeping a hand on the wall as he walks. what sort of things are strewn on the floor going in towards the dining room.
oh his phone buzzes. adjusting his glass parcel, he takes his phone out and squints at the screen. ]

but mineo will let gu yun handle the possible tequila - though in that question, is there anything to indicate any kind of smell? like alcohol burning or is it just smoke and fire.]
... was Eleanor-san getting chased? Was she able to get in and out, if she didn't die here...?
[based on the stuff that's been knocked around, does it indicate any kind of path taken? or is it just more like stuff thrown around randomly. how does the dining room table look]

Any sort of marks on the wall in particular, like a weapon might have been swung around? Or just like someone bumped into them or tore things off in a panic?
And if they enter the dining room, helping to search that too immediately - if mineo has the table are there any cabinets around or anything. stuff knocked on the floor in here too?]

the things on the floor look mostly like pictures, or other knickknacks which had been hanging on the walls, and stuff from the dining room.
as gu yun walks along, his hand and wrist suddenly vanish into the wall near the doorway to the dining room. AHHH! kidding, it's fine. his hand slips into a little hole which molly can see when he glances around the wall.
in the dining room doorway, they can see everything inside is a mess. the flames peel back away to the corners of the walls when sloth leads them inside.]

anyway BEFORE his hand gets sucked up by a little hole in the wall he's going to turn and carefully give molly the glass, double wrapping it up in the fabric before handing it over. ] It's alcohol. Tequila, based on the label - I can smell it in here, too.

[what’s normally in the dining room, where are the tables and chairs? looking around on the floor first, is there more glass shards this way or did that stop in the entryway. does this room also kind of smell like tequila or nah?

the inside of the dining room doesn't smell like tequila. there's a single dining table and some chairs. the chairs are either pushed around or flipped over. likewise, everything on the table has been shoved around, or tumbled to the floor.

anyway. he's gonna take his phone out with his free hand and take a picture of the Hole so they can compare it to things later, and then put his palm flat on the wall next to it to size compare and snap a picture of that as well. is it oval shaped or round? there was nothing in it besides his hand right. does it look cleanly made (ie: are there any cracks in the wall around it or anything?)
also, where is it in relation to gu yun's height since its low? chest height? waist? closer to the ground? aaand i asked clarifying q so there's a door! does it match the doorknob/within reasonable distance of the doorknob? just in case

Stuff’s been pretty messed up here too. There’s a rug that’s kind of shuffled around, so I think Eleanor-san could’ve tripped…?

mineo brings his fingers back, and it's.... blood! yay! it doesn't really smell like much, but it's sort of sticky, and he can definitely tell it's blood. it's on the floor, and on his cheek now. when he looks under the table, there is blood at one corner.
the blood from the corner is right above the blood on the floor under the table. a few inches away, there's more blood. it heads right between molly's feet and back toward the door of the dining room. there isn't anything on the surface of the table.]

[ by the stairs: are the things near the bottom knocked off at around what eleanor's height might have been if she bumped into it?

When the rug was all balled up does it look like someone did that intentionally or just looney tunes scooted it during a chase scene that involved wall holes and falling into tables?

If she was running around this floor trying to escape, makes sense she might have ducked into another room on this floor.

the blood on mineo's fingers is just normal blood. it just gets tacky after it starts drying a bit on his skin like blood is wont to do. the corner of the table has a very nicely dangerous right angle. the rug looks like it was dropped aside, but it hadn't been balled up tightly. nothing is in it, and the only thing on it is heavy scorch marks from fire.
molly's blood trail leads him directly out the door and bumping right into gu yun who comes in. oof! it takes a turn and heads in the direction of the entrance. it's a hurried trail, but not sporadic. it's not a ton of blood either.
"they would have seen this before mods?" yes, but (anna voice) follow natural order of progression rules.]

Think the other group found her - also, the dog she had breathed fire, apparently, so that's likely how this started.
[ gu yun does in fact bump into molly when he heads out, bracing himself briefly and giving him a pat on the chest, and then turning back to look at the blood trail on the way out. was that there before. (anna voice) yes

.... but with the tequila, it kinda feels hard to believe that it's all an accident? Maybe it was, though.
[like. huge murder comedy of errors type thing. at the mention of putting the dog in the rug mineo is now going to look even more closely for dog hairs. hello? pomeranians shed, don't they. are they able to find any dog hairs on the floor in general amidst the blood and everything strewn about? mineo will try to shuffle through the stuff
