WEEK 3 TRIAL
POPULATION: 25
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
Lust is at the table and seems to be finishing a topcoat on their nails. Pride is looking down at their claws, sprawled in their chair. Envy is slumped forward on the table... but don't worry, he's not dead this time, he just has his head pillowed on his folded arms. Gluttony is sitting up straight, hands laced together and waiting.
The rest of the Avatars all look at Pride after a moment of silence, and then, vaguely annoyed, Pride says:
What? They know they have nine hours by this point. Don't look at me.
Hello, and welcome to fourth third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.
Good luck, and have fun!

observing room report
Um... there's not a lot to report back with? We found a lot of blood splattered around the observing room's desk and chair. Maybe someone was sitting on it when they were attacked? And speaking of which...
[ here she gestures to grace, who is holding a large bloodied telescope before it gets dropped off at evidence. ]
We found this too, just leaning against the wall behind the door. Gracie says it's broken, so that could explain the broken glass where Chai [ childe ] was. It might also be a clue for the metal rolling sound we heard when my group checked the room out yesterday?
[ she huffs tiredly before muttering under her breath, ] I wanted to find something more helpful.

It's covered in blood, more on the larger end, the glass is broken, and it's a bit dented on the larger end too. But there wasn't any glass in the room, so....

Head wounds do bleed a lot, too.

[HM.]
So someone took it from the observing room with them. Maybe they got one hit off and chased the other down? Might explain why the glass from it isn't in that room.

[ but why ]
Was there a trail of blood or anything?
no subject
[ so... no? and she shakes her head ]
It was more splatters than a trail? Misa found those.

[ squints ]
If he did die somewhere else it was probably on the same floor though. Takin' the elevator woulda taken time.

[ whomst the fuck knows ]

It was less a trail and more just... [ gestures with her hands ] But like I said, mostly centered on the desk and chair. I took pictures?
[ she'll hold her phone up to yuel. these pictures are shitty but they're something......... ]

Kinda like it was poolin' there? How does someone lose that much blood and not die...

So... this wasn't the place where anyone died. But they had to have gone somewhere after. Maybe we can find glass shards somewhere else, or more blood.
It sounds like this telescope was used in the murder, though.
No one was in the observation room overnight, right? So we don't know if this is where Ashiya-san was.

That's possible. Well, we followed it. [wow stars! and a bloody telescope]
I guess if you have head trauma, you can theoretically 'see stars' too. [using airquotes.... like in cartoons]
You'd probably have to swing the telescope pretty hard though, right?
[this is kinda graphic? well. it's a murder trial]

[ wtf does that even mean ]

But.... Well, okay - kinda weird 'cause Omi-san started in the kitchen. So I dunno if we can pin this on either one yet until we get more info.
General idea is that however died related to the observation room got whacked in the head pretty hard. Maybe they just wanted to run for it until their head stopped ringing?
