Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

goood morning! come join us in the conference room when you're ready!

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Victims: Omi Fushimi, Ashiya Douman

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

Lust is at the table and seems to be finishing a topcoat on their nails. Pride is looking down at their claws, sprawled in their chair. Envy is slumped forward on the table... but don't worry, he's not dead this time, he just has his head pillowed on his folded arms. Gluttony is sitting up straight, hands laced together and waiting.

The rest of the Avatars all look at Pride after a moment of silence, and then, vaguely annoyed, Pride says:

What? They know they have nine hours by this point. Don't look at me.

Hello, and welcome to fourth third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

So... this wasn't the place where anyone died. But they had to have gone somewhere after. Maybe we can find glass shards somewhere else, or more blood.

It sounds like this telescope was used in the murder, though.

No one was in the observation room overnight, right? So we don't know if this is where Ashiya-san was.

Well, I think that what Grace and I saw was most likely hinting to it, on top of what the other group saw there... so maybe they just wanted more of an emphasis on it since we couldn't ask anyone who stayed?

I guess if you have head trauma, you can theoretically 'see stars' too. [using airquotes.... like in cartoons]

You'd probably have to swing the telescope pretty hard though, right?

How heavy is the telescope again? You don't really have to be particularly strong if it has enough weight to it-- like a baseball bat.

Most telescopes are made to be carried in the first place. They're not a stay still hobby unless you get one of those like, massive NASA ones?

That would make sense to me! When you get whacked in the head, you definitely see twinkly lights. Suppose it's a good little "joke" this place is playing.

We're assuming that maybe it was Omi-san that got knocked around then? I mean, I guess it could've been his killer.... We'll need to look at the body to check once we get his injuries to appear.

They didn't die in there, but I wouldn't say there was a fight, either. The telescope and some of the blood on the ground is all that we could find, so...

General idea is that however died related to the observation room got whacked in the head pretty hard. Maybe they just wanted to run for it until their head stopped ringing?

Maybe... the killer grabbed the telescope and the whole thing happened outside of the observing room altogether? It wouldn't be the first time people brought things back after using them. If they hit them in there, we'd have found the glass.

[why do they return the murderous items back to their original spots? what the fuck?]

Huh... But there was blood by the chair, right? So something had to have happened there.

That's what I don't get. Even if they were hit near there, they'd still ... I don't know, drip out if they ran from there?

[ grace is not that familiar with massive head wounds caused by being bashed in with a telescope ]

It was mostly around the chair to the desk, though, nowhere else. If they ran or were dragged out, there'd have been more blood, right?

There's brain matter on the telescope. If no one died in there, they were at least mortally wounded by the telescope.

Yeah, I told Misa it was probably a murder weapon when we found it. But that doesn't mean it was used in there. It was just left leaning upright next to the doorway.
