WEEK 3 TRIAL
POPULATION: 25
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
Lust is at the table and seems to be finishing a topcoat on their nails. Pride is looking down at their claws, sprawled in their chair. Envy is slumped forward on the table... but don't worry, he's not dead this time, he just has his head pillowed on his folded arms. Gluttony is sitting up straight, hands laced together and waiting.
The rest of the Avatars all look at Pride after a moment of silence, and then, vaguely annoyed, Pride says:
What? They know they have nine hours by this point. Don't look at me.
Hello, and welcome to fourth third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.
Good luck, and have fun!

And to think, this was a perfectly good place to spend time until they started murdering people in here.
[ and, checking her phone - ]
Harrow says Douman's body reacted, so we can assume most of the blood is his.

[Since Meg is looking at the tables, Sheila will head over to take a closer look at that shiny thing. What is it?
But, also—]
... Fuck, Douman.
[What else can she say to that?]
no subject
no subject
[ hmmm if she checks the chairs and tables, is there any sign of what knocked them over? damage, blood, or anything else? she'll check what's on the tables and chairs and also under them! ]
no subject
[Hm. Dislike.
But, fiiiine. She will be careful not to step in it, and crouch down to take a better look at the type of glass. Does it look like it could have come from the tea sets? Or is the glass different, like something that would belong to a bottle or glass from the common room? She will search for the largest shard she can spot, covering her hand with the hem of her dress in order to pick it up for inspection.]
no subject
which is different than what sheila finds, because the glass she has looks more along the lines of what could come from the tea sets. don't cut yourself.]
no subject
it's one from the common room, isn't it. are there any like... puddles or whatever to indicate what happened to the contents? does the area smell like alcohol, maybe? ]
Found a broken bottle. Got anything over there?
no subject
[Cool. She will try not cut herself, but, like. Are there any napkins or tea towels in the room? Because if the ground around the glass isn't visibly Moist, she will still try to pat it down with a couple layers between her hand and the ground just to make sure there wasn't any liquid here? She will not do this is there is any visible moisture, though.]
no subject
there is probably a napkin on the tables, but the ground isn't moist in the slightest. patting the ground also won't reveal any mystery liquid either besides the, like, visible blood on the ground.]
no subject
[ just gonna take one of the table napkins to carefully pick it up, if possible? hm. ]
Wherever it's from, there's a bit of blood on it, so someone definitely used it in the fight.
no subject
What's up with the larger smears of blood on the ground? Do they have any particular shape or anything noticeable about them? Like direction, where they fade, size compared to her hand...]
Like, on the pointy edges...?
no subject
sheila can check out the larger smears! some of them are just splatters here and there, but others look almost as if they're drag marks. like partial footprints. they seem to be leading into the room itself and around, and they're larger than her hand.]
no subject
[ alright, she has the broken bottle. what if she checks... the ceiling! and the walls! is there anything out of the ordinary there or are we gucci ]
no subject
[Hmm... Can she compare her own feet to the partial footprints at all? And when you say they're drag marks like partial footprints, do you mean it looks like someone was dragging their feet through the room? Also: Are the splatters like... velocity splatters or more like splatters from blood dripping? There are so many questions. I'm so sorry.]
no subject
no subject
Find anything else over there?
no subject
[She will snap another picture for comparison, later. In the meantime, can she tell anything about the way the person was moving around? Like... are the prints somewhat uncoordinated and all over the place, or do they make an easy to follow path? Also, do the drips coincide with the path formed by the prints?]
no subject
the smears are pretty sudden as if the person was moving quickly. there isn't a distinct pattern or path, but the drips from the outside down coincide with these smeared prints.]
no subject
[ she will stop by the sort-of footprints to compare her foot as requested, but then she's going to go look at that puddle of blood! carefully, since there's glass everywhere.
so is it just a puddle, then? no murder weapon or signed confession? more signs of a struggle or footprints leading over here? ]
So this must be where they killed Douman.
no subject
Should we send another update?
[But in the meantime, she will check that the smeared prints don't have anything hidden between them. After that, she will take a look at the remaining tea sets, food, teas, cutlery, etc. Is there anything visibly funky inside or between them? Or, like any weird smells coming from them?]
no subject
there's nothing else that stands out among the rest of the tea sets or prints either.]
no subject
[ she's just? squinting at this puddle of blood? not even any splatter marks here? no smears, it's all just... pooled there? ]
DW MY NOTIFS...
What do you think? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate our thoroughness?
no subject
I think you guys are pretty good here, too. Let's head back.
