WEEK 3 TRIAL
POPULATION: 25
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
Lust is at the table and seems to be finishing a topcoat on their nails. Pride is looking down at their claws, sprawled in their chair. Envy is slumped forward on the table... but don't worry, he's not dead this time, he just has his head pillowed on his folded arms. Gluttony is sitting up straight, hands laced together and waiting.
The rest of the Avatars all look at Pride after a moment of silence, and then, vaguely annoyed, Pride says:
What? They know they have nine hours by this point. Don't look at me.
Hello, and welcome to fourth third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.
Good luck, and have fun!

Why can't you all be normal murderers.

Mood.

... at least if they fought back, that gives us another hint. We have to... really look out for bites, I guess. Especially on areas that would naturally have exposed skin.
no subject
This hasn't been normal from the start, don't expect it to get any better now when a precedent has been set.
no subject
.... yeah. I mean - if there's a fight, it gives us stuff to work with. But examining bites against a corpse's teeth is...
[dude that's so fucking freaky he's an ex-cop and he never saw shit like that]

Their teeth are rather... unique, we shouldn't have to examine anything too closely in that case. But evidence is evidence.
[ You take what you can get in magic fantasy china, tbh, so this isn't that strange to him. Poor Mineo. ]

.... if nobody used the healing pod.
[to be clear about that]
But healing pods also can't generalize injuries - so that means they would be overall more healed, too.

At the very least, if it scarred, it should be easy to identify.

The piano wire might likely leave scars on their palms, as well, and those seem hard to blend in. If they wore thick gloves or wrapped something around their hands, we might be able to find evidence of that somewhere, too.
[ even gu yun doesn't have that many scars on his hands! ]

If no one owns up to the bite on Douman, should we do the same for it...?

[ maybe we wait until we have his body and compare teeth ]

I wouldn't entirely count it out.

...You did well, meimei. [ hgh ] Douman had particularly sharp teeth, didn't they? That would leave a distinctive mark.
[ . . . ] Is there anything in the music room that could leave those distinctive stab marks? Could it have been broken glass shards?
[ me trying to understand anything rn ]
no subject
They did. So that's somewhere to start. [...] As for what could have lfet those marks, I'm really not sure.
