Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

goood morning! come join us in the conference room when you're ready!

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Victims: Omi Fushimi, Ashiya Douman

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

Lust is at the table and seems to be finishing a topcoat on their nails. Pride is looking down at their claws, sprawled in their chair. Envy is slumped forward on the table... but don't worry, he's not dead this time, he just has his head pillowed on his folded arms. Gluttony is sitting up straight, hands laced together and waiting.

The rest of the Avatars all look at Pride after a moment of silence, and then, vaguely annoyed, Pride says:

What? They know they have nine hours by this point. Don't look at me.

Hello, and welcome to fourth third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

Oh - you can swap powers if an Avatar offers you a better one too... so there's that.

I don't know if I wanna go into the details because I don't wanna give anybody ideas, but we can talk about it later... or if people think it's important, I'll explain.

Only about half of us bothered to respond at all. [So. That's why it would work.] If I'm right, someone just claimed to have the same power you claimed just to avoid saying what theirs was.

It was myself, Mineo, Douman and Lenore, who claimed it. I don't mind testing mine, if need be. Kind of curious to see how it works, to be honest.

I think there was a group that mentioned having no power at all, but I can't confirm or deny if that was true.

They just didn't get one - but I think they weren't able to finish their task.

Not exactly. There's no confirmation that there couldn't be four to a power group, unless someone's done the math.

We don't know that - because not everyone answered. So in theory all groups should be in three, but what if they're not?

And it'd just open up a different question: if Ashiya-san didn't have our power, which one did they have?

I thought that if anyone lied, it was likely Douman or you. But I think if it was you, you'd have just admitted to it by now.

He did confirm it with me before last week's trial, Harrowhark. I don't think there would have been much reason to lie about it then.

I agree.

I don't think Omi-san would lie about his... but I know Ashiya-san.... [a beat] I mean, sometimes they'd just keep cards up their sleeve and stuff.

[he doesn't want to be blind to the idea]

Omi was the first one to say what his did, if I recall correctly. So he was almost certainly telling the truth.

[Her opinions on Douman aside. . .]

You know my views on the matter. To suggest that someone lied does not imply judgment on my part, merely a recognition that it would be a pragmatic course of action.

Yeah, I do. And I get it. But I guess... I mean, Shi-san said this yesterday but would blood boiling, if it's literal, leave some kind of mark? Would it be painful? That's what I want to find out, I guess.

It might not be literal though, and then you just make someone super crazy for thirty seconds. Kind of a weird power, but...

I can't really understand it, either. If it did what it sounds like it does, I think it could be exceptionally lethal. But no other power given out has been an automatically kill someone power, so I'm doubtful.

Yes, while I think most people were likely honest about their powers, it would be easy enough to claim to be in one group when you belong to another.

And the power swapping makes it all but impossible to track unless we figure out who can't use their powers at all.

There is a way to do that, in fact. But it will only work once.

I wonder if there's some evidence you could find of powers being used.... Or if the Avatars would tell us? They said they can't tell us who they gave powers to, but maybe if they were even used at all...

So, we could always have some wildcards amongst us, if people are swapping powers after claiming to have a different one.

Yeah. It makes it harder for sure.

Could they swap to another power that someone else had or something totally new?

But I don't have enough information to say for sure. I feel like you can't steal someone else's power though.

That definitely throws a wrench in things. But I guess we can't start wonderin' about things we have no clue about at all. Unless we force people to account for their powers again.
