Week 1 Mingle
POPULATION: 35
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base and it’s the start of a new week!
Good thing, too. After the deaths of Tamaki Suoh and Beauregard, the tension around the base may be a bit higher than it was before. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.
Or maybe you don't care and this is life as usual. That's fine, too. With everything in working order once again, the elevator reveals that it may now visit the second floor. Perhaps it’s worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration.
While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.
But...while adjusting to life here may be easier to handle, you may find other things which used to come easy have been tempered this week. Are you well-known for your swordfighting skills? Suddenly you'll find you can barely hold a blade. Do you pride yourself on your sociable personality? A crippling shyness may overwhelm you, making it difficult to speak to people at all. As the week goes on, it becomes clear that the special trait or skill you've invested so much time and energy in is no longer something that comes easily to you.
Looks like it's back to the basics.

[ This is Vlad, laid out luxuriously on the couches of the opium den. In place of his usual suit, he is wearing respectable khaki pants and a robelike top that is...tied so loosely it leaves his naked chest nearly fully exposed. He flips idly through the explanatory book. ]
I'm not really one to...partake, really, but the atmosphere here is quite nice, wouldn't you agree?
b.
[ Later on, you can find him in the tea room, sat at a table draped in a purple cape and a top hat placed on the table in front of him, next to the teapot. He sips tea from his cup gently, delicately, pinky out and all.
If you decide to come near, you may also notice he smells...like baked goods! But not any of the fancy ones available on the table here. No, he smells instead like the old-fashioned cookies and brownies placed out in the kitchen. ]
Care to join me? The tea selection here is...exquisite.
a
You're certainly dressed like someone who would.
[You look like an 18th century privateer from a romance novel.[

[ Vlad's gaze on Douman, in contrast, does not falter. He is perfectly happy to remain draped all over this couch
like one of your french girlsand is undeterred by awkward gazes. ]no subject
[And just reaching over to pluck the explanatory book from Vlad's hands.]
Hm. And what is this?
no subject
A book explaining how to ah, indulge in here, it appears.

Aoi doesn't know good tea from bad tea.

[ gently sets his teacup back down on its saucer. ]
Well, there's never a bad time to be introduced to good tea. Here, try some.
[ He'll go ahead and pour a cup for Aoi before nudging it towards her. ]
no subject
How do you know when tea is bad?
no subject
[ he says this like he has one of these refined palates but honestly in a blind taste test he wouldn't be able to tell garbo tea from the best tea in the world. ]

Steven just kind of wanders in, squinting at the surroundings, before he finally ends up sorta-before Vlad? And he squints at him. ]
Oh, already having fun, are we. Didn't take you for being this type of guy. [ So dryly with a slight bite. ]
no subject

A whorish drug lord. [ BLUNT. ]
