WEEK 0 MINGLE
POPULATION: 37
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base and it’s the start of a new week!
After the events of the day before and the meet and greet provided by four new Avatars, you may find yourself wondering how you can get in touch with them again. Fear not. One look at your handy dandy cell phone will reveal eight new contacts added to your directory. Feel free to shoot them a message. You may be surprised.
But before you get too far, perhaps it’s worth checking out the base once more. Those locked rooms from the days before have been unlocked, free for exploration. In addition, should occupants visit the central elevator they will find the elevator in working order (and flame-free) and that a new floor has opened. Take a look, familiarize yourself, and make yourself comfortable. Life on the base is a happy place.
And speaking of happiness…it’s funny. For the rest of the week, all who reside on the base will be inflicted with little feelings of hope and happiness, a belief that they can manifest almost anything. This week, all will discover that any mundane thing they hope for will be at their disposal...though do be careful. Those small wishes may come to fruition in ways you don't expect. For example, wishing for a year's supply of sushi may net you one astronomically large sushi roll. An eyeshadow palette may provide you with samples of actual colored eyelids. And a punching bag could be mistaken for a bag full of confetti instead.
May all your hopes and dreams come true, everyone.

Steven's looking down at the """water""" and making a face. ]
Don't need to check that to know what it is. [ The smell is overpowering. Are those bones??? That's not ominous at all. ]
no subject
[ aoi you are WAY off season ]
no subject
Oh, phew. For a moment, I thought this was going to be dangerous.
[and she just straight up
dips a finger in the blood-river and tastes it.]
no subject
What fortuitous timing, even. [ God. ] ...How is it?
[ Meanwhile, he's going to step into the boat itself, make sure it, you know, functions. ]
no subject
Fortuitous timing?
no subject
... Disgusting. Nothing like the real thing. But it's not water, either.
[but hey, let's go. she's in the boat, too.]
no subject
[ HE WAVES OFF AOI. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. The boat starts moving down the dark, bloody and awful tunnel on its own. ]
...Where do you suppose this is heading?
no subject
Somewhere romantic.
no subject
Hm... somewhere romantic, though? With three of us?
no subject
...............Romantic, though............. ]
...You think this ride is romantic? [ He understands the whole tunnel of love vibe. The swan boat vibe. But not so much the blood bath vibe, or the skeleton vibe.
.........Skeleton vibe?
Oh yeah, as if summoned by Aoi speaking the word 'romantic', there's a skeletal hand just reaching its way out of the blood and trying to join them on their nice boat.
Steven immediately kicks it off. ]
What the hell!
no subject
[ aoi just. stares at the hand. that's fine, the skeleton can come too? ]
no subject
[it's okay, steven's got it under control. :>]
no subject
He tosses it into the water. ]
Hope there aren't more of these, don't think this boat is meant for more than three people. [ Even if Aoi and Lenore weigh like, nothing. ]
no subject
The suspension bridge effect is when people mistake fear for attraction.
no subject
[...?]
Get down.
[flying axe incoming! lenore's already taking cover.]
no subject
He gives Lenore a brief "?" look -- before realizing the incoming danger for himself, just barely dodging a flying axe that wooshes past his head. Holy shit?? Holy shit??? ]
A bit extreme for suspension bridge effect, I think. [ Yeah this is straight up a Castlevania game stage. ]
no subject
luckily she drops her cell phone and leans down to pick it up. she only realizes what happened after straightening back up. ]
... That's true. It would be hard to have a threesome in these circumstances.
no subject
[lenore sits back up and sighs, like this is mildly inconveniencing her.]
I will say that I wasn't expecting a literal death-trap. The execution's a bit half-arsed, though.
[what a lame castlevania level.]
no subject
Steven's clearly having a dilemma. There's so much, all the time. At least he is, as he tends to be, prepared, as he produces that colourful flashlight that they got in their starter pack from his inventory. Not that he's sure it'll effectively illuminate the place any better, but at least maybe it'll help. Turning on the white light end, of course. ]
Where's the end of this?... I suggest you two stay seated and keep your heads down, since I'm sure there'll be more on the way. [ AOI HE'S TALKING TO YOU, HE NOTICED YOU ONLY MISSED IT BY ACCIDENT. ]
no subject
... she turns her light to shine it on another skeleton trying to climb in. ]
Another guest.
no subject
Go get him, Steven.
no subject
An unwanted guest, unfortunately, as is --! [ Another bladed swing and a miss. Terrible! ] -- As are all these other obstacles. Are they trying to kill us? [ ?! ]
no subject
no subject
Oh, I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Look at how well Steven's doing!
no subject
[ If only he had his powers... he's doing alright without them, but it would make everything so much easier. He mulls over this with a mild air of sadness as he just toes a skeleton that's gripping his shoe with a bony bloody hand. "Let me on the boat, share the love", it vibes. Rejected. Go back into the blood. ]
