Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base and it’s the start of a new week!

After the events of the day before and the meet and greet provided by four new Avatars, you may find yourself wondering how you can get in touch with them again. Fear not. One look at your handy dandy cell phone will reveal eight new contacts added to your directory. Feel free to shoot them a message. You may be surprised.

But before you get too far, perhaps it’s worth checking out the base once more. Those locked rooms from the days before have been unlocked, free for exploration. In addition, should occupants visit the central elevator they will find the elevator in working order (and flame-free) and that a new floor has opened. Take a look, familiarize yourself, and make yourself comfortable. Life on the base is a happy place.

And speaking of happiness…it’s funny. For the rest of the week, all who reside on the base will be inflicted with little feelings of hope and happiness, a belief that they can manifest almost anything. This week, all will discover that any mundane thing they hope for will be at their disposal...though do be careful. Those small wishes may come to fruition in ways you don't expect. For example, wishing for a year's supply of sushi may net you one astronomically large sushi roll. An eyeshadow palette may provide you with samples of actual colored eyelids. And a punching bag could be mistaken for a bag full of confetti instead.

Oh yeah, as if summoned by Aoi speaking the word 'romantic', there's a skeletal hand just reaching its way out of the blood and trying to join them on their nice boat.

[ Fine, let the guy do all the work. Then again, he has a feeling he's the most used to doing this out of this triad. He reaches down and pries the hand left behind off, squinting at it in the extreme dim and dark. Yeah, sure is a skeleton all right.

He tosses it into the water. ]

Hope there aren't more of these, don't think this boat is meant for more than three people. [ Even if Aoi and Lenore weigh like, nothing. ]

[ she gives steven a brief clap for his hard work. keep it up. she'll sit here and do nothing. ]

The suspension bridge effect is when people mistake fear for attraction.

He gives Lenore a brief "?" look -- before realizing the incoming danger for himself, just barely dodging a flying axe that wooshes past his head. Holy shit?? Holy shit??? ]

A bit extreme for suspension bridge effect, I think. [ Yeah this is straight up a Castlevania game stage. ]

[ i'm going to be real with you, aoi would not dodge this on her own.

luckily she drops her cell phone and leans down to pick it up. she only realizes what happened after straightening back up. ]

I will say that I wasn't expecting a literal death-trap. The execution's a bit half-arsed, though.

At least he is, as he tends to be, prepared, as he produces that colourful flashlight that they got in their starter pack from his inventory. Not that he's sure it'll effectively illuminate the place any better, but at least maybe it'll help. Turning on the white light end, of course. ]

Where's the end of this?... I suggest you two stay seated and keep your heads down, since I'm sure there'll be more on the way. [ AOI HE'S TALKING TO YOU, HE NOTICED YOU ONLY MISSED IT BY ACCIDENT. ]

[ hm? are you speaking to aoi? she is very busy turning on her smartphone's flashlight to help out. look how helpful she is!!

... she turns her light to shine it on another skeleton trying to climb in. ]

[Oh, he's telling both of them to keep down! That's very sweet. Lenore will wrap an arm around Aoi's shoulder so she can yank her in whatever direction if they need to dodge.]

Go get him, Steven.

[ Yeah yeah, he's on it -- excuse me ladies, long leg coming through, leaving a steel footprint on some poor skeleton's skull as he knocks it backwards into the water. ]

An unwanted guest, unfortunately, as is --! [ Another bladed swing and a miss. Terrible! ] -- As are all these other obstacles. Are they trying to kill us? [ ?! ]

Maybe this is why the walkthrough mentions dying so much. The setting is gonna kill us.

[Holding Aoi close, she'll lean over so they don't get cleaved.]

Oh, I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Look at how well Steven's doing!

If I was going to die here, I'd rather it not be -- [ kicky kicky ] -- in a tunnel of love.

[ If only he had his powers... he's doing alright without them, but it would make everything so much easier. He mulls over this with a mild air of sadness as he just toes a skeleton that's gripping his shoe with a bony bloody hand. "Let me on the boat, share the love", it vibes. Rejected. Go back into the blood. ]

Haha, well. I think a romantic death could be nice, though I don't see myself having one. How about you two?

Aoi is most likely to die a romantic death.

I plan on living forever.

But if I had to die, then... hmm. Perhaps in the arms of a lover, under a starry sky?

I like the idea of that. [ Lenore's death, he means. ] I guess this did turn into a romantic conversation, though not entirely in the expected way.

I don't think Aoi nor I are as concrete in our death wishes.
