Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base and it’s the start of a new week!

After the events of the day before and the meet and greet provided by four new Avatars, you may find yourself wondering how you can get in touch with them again. Fear not. One look at your handy dandy cell phone will reveal eight new contacts added to your directory. Feel free to shoot them a message. You may be surprised.

But before you get too far, perhaps it’s worth checking out the base once more. Those locked rooms from the days before have been unlocked, free for exploration. In addition, should occupants visit the central elevator they will find the elevator in working order (and flame-free) and that a new floor has opened. Take a look, familiarize yourself, and make yourself comfortable. Life on the base is a happy place.

And speaking of happiness…it’s funny. For the rest of the week, all who reside on the base will be inflicted with little feelings of hope and happiness, a belief that they can manifest almost anything. This week, all will discover that any mundane thing they hope for will be at their disposal...though do be careful. Those small wishes may come to fruition in ways you don't expect. For example, wishing for a year's supply of sushi may net you one astronomically large sushi roll. An eyeshadow palette may provide you with samples of actual colored eyelids. And a punching bag could be mistaken for a bag full of confetti instead.

[Everything broken or destroyed has been returned to its previous, original state, and things even shine and shimmer as if brand new. There is a note written in extremely elegant script left in the common room which reads:

Do take care of other's property as if it were your own. I am sure you are all not without a bit of manners?

Monday:
● There's still no bleach.
● In the kitchen, the knife blocks are empty, a carving fork is still missing, and a blender is still missing.
● In the kitchen, the previous bread is now in a little baggy as breadcrumbs. Are they trying to catch a bird...?
● In the gym, two sets of dumbbells are missing from the row of weights. A portable radio is still missing.
● In the music room, the flute is missing, and the violin is missing its bow. The harp still sounds strange when it's played.

Tuesday:
● There is a dead scorpion in one of the milk cartons in the kitchen.
● The breadcrumbs are mysterious missing.
● There are three broken raw eggs on the kitchen floor.
● A cutting board and kitchen scissors are missing from the kitchen.
● A basketball is missing from the Rec Room.
● The mini-fridge in the Rec Room is dented and unplugged, lying on its side with the content strewn about.
● The glass is broken on one of the arcade machines in the Rec Room.
● The dilapidated carcass of a bean bag is on the ground in the Rec Room, and its innards have exploded everywhere.
● Velocipastor is playing on the screen in the Rec Room.
● There is Monopoly money tossed about all over the floor of the Rec Room. I truly wish for the day when these fuckers taste divine karmic retribution for their extended crimes.

Wednesday:
● Some very NICE and AMAZING people have cleaned up the Rec Room and the Kitchen.
● In the kitchen: there's a note in neat script which says, "Please clean up after yourselves." On the milk scorpion, there is a note which says, "Keep your milk scorpion in your room." On the microwave, there is a note which says, "Do not put metal in this." Bold of them to think the culprits can and will read.
● At the Rec Room entrance, there is a note which just says, "Why?"

Thursday:
● In the kitchen, strawberry jam is all over the floor; it's streaky, as if someone made an attempt to clean it up and failed. A playboy bunny outfit is in the sink, covered in jam. The sink has been left running, and the water is overflowing all over the floor.
● At the end of the Sleep Bay hall, a note has been left which reads:

DESPAIR

[despair is a difficult figure to miss. they're tall, for one, but their most distinct feature is a large pair of black wings, usually curled around themselves a bit to avoid knocking anything over. they wear the same hooded cloak as the others, with their symbol embroidered onto the side (though theirs is modified to work around the wings). the hood also sits a little oddly, for some reason.

you'll most likely find them in the planetarium or in the unlabeled room. in either case, they're hovering a short distance above the ground, lounging in the air as they watch either the planetarium stars or the 'sky' in the ??? room.

they barely bother to turn toward anyone who approaches, though, just greeting them with:]

[okay, but the planetarium is really pretty. shi qingxuan is coming in here with a jug of wine in hand to look around, but finds herself distracted by the stars pretty quick.

doubly so once she finds the button on the wall to make their surroundings just look like 3-d space.]

i. gym

[ first thing's first -- yuri heads to the gym as early as he can on monday morning. for lack of any kind of striking dummy, or anything traditionally used for target practices he's... whaling on what looks like a punching bag. with a nerf-foam sword.

his moves seem natural, and practiced. there's nothing to suggest he's not done this before, just that he's keeping up abilities rather than letting them atrophy. the most notable thing about this thought, is that the nerf-form sword is vaguely dick shaped.

he'll stop once he's done with a round of blows, lowering the tip of the "blade" to point at the floor. ]

... Can I help you? [ ...

oh.

he waves the sword slightly. ] Better than wrecking the furniture for an alternative, don't you think?

b. planetarium

[ he's just stood in the middle of the room, staring directly up at the "stars". it's like he's never seen anything like it, which isn't exactly true. but whatever it is he's seeing, it's still impressive. especially given he was definitely inside just a moment ago.

either way, it'll take him a moment to notice someone coming into the room alongside him, and another momnent to blink himself out of his staring. ]

Is this another technology thing I know nothing about? Because it sure seems like it.

c. simulations

[ when you walk into the simulation room it's... notably nothing like it might look if you'd walked in here before yuri got here. the room is dark, dimly lit, and full of dark, candlelight corners, and towering underground walkways that show strangely clear signs of life peppered throughout them - from market stalls in one hall, to a smattering of tables and chairs in another corner.

but only for a moment.

as soon as yuri, stood at the console, realises someone else is in the room with him, the whole image flickers and changes, twisting from the dark, underground scene to one much greener, and brighter, almost like a different place all together. there's life here too, with people milling around in dark, matching uniforms; or running past you in a panicked blur, notes and weaponry tucked under their arms. ]

Curious about this place too? It seems like some kind of illusion, but it can't be, can it?

[In fact sitting opposite of them is a dark, skeleton-like figure, a large black piece of paper emblazoned with an eye hanging in front of what might be their face. The figure has their dark hands folded in their lap, and there's a cup of piping hot tea in front of them on the table. However, they don't move. The eye of the paper stares blankly. Douman doesn't seem to be even talking to them either, just sitting here with eyes close, enjoying the tea.]

[Later, Douman can be found perusing the Experimental Holding area with a wide grin. They reach up to clack their fingernails over the glass of the pods, humming to themselves with quiet delight.]

[Today, or really any other day, early risers may have noticed Fukuda sleeping on one of the couches. Once or twice is one thing, but it seems to just be a Thing now. Perhaps someone should ask him what's up with this?]

[Well, the universe said don't let your dreams be dreams this week, and the lack of bleach is a bit troubling for Fukuda and his nice white shirt. And surely, other people could use bleach too? So he thought... he for some reason, thought he could solve this problem.

Anyway if you come into the room you might find him surrounded by stacks of Bleach by Tite Kubo, clearly at a loss.]

[Haha what a fucked up room this is, huh?? Fukuda is standing in front of one of the tanks, his hand pressed up to the glass, which a particularly mournful sort of look on his face. Of course, he sees himself in the tank, but you... that's you he's looking at, isn't he. He mutters to himself;]

Hahaha... I don't think I'm familiar enough with science fiction to know what to make of this... It can't be a well, after all, there's no cockpit, no kaeru...

[ Hello, troublemakers. Steven's arriving into the common room around 11am to noon-ish on Monday -- a fair time, he thinks, and reasonable enough for more than a handful of people to be present. He checked over the note, and god bless, everything is fixed and all. Then he speaks, loud and clear, authoritative tone speaking of someone who's used to doing announcements. ]

Alright, listen up. It seems we'll be here, together as a group whether we want it or not, for a while yet. That means that for better or worse, we will be living here, with this floor as our temporary home.

That means if someone dirties up the place, you dirty it up for everyone, including yourself, and there's no telling when, or if they'll send a cleaning crew to fix up any messes that are made again.
