Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base and it’s the start of a new week!

After the events of the day before and the meet and greet provided by four new Avatars, you may find yourself wondering how you can get in touch with them again. Fear not. One look at your handy dandy cell phone will reveal eight new contacts added to your directory. Feel free to shoot them a message. You may be surprised.

But before you get too far, perhaps it’s worth checking out the base once more. Those locked rooms from the days before have been unlocked, free for exploration. In addition, should occupants visit the central elevator they will find the elevator in working order (and flame-free) and that a new floor has opened. Take a look, familiarize yourself, and make yourself comfortable. Life on the base is a happy place.

And speaking of happiness…it’s funny. For the rest of the week, all who reside on the base will be inflicted with little feelings of hope and happiness, a belief that they can manifest almost anything. This week, all will discover that any mundane thing they hope for will be at their disposal...though do be careful. Those small wishes may come to fruition in ways you don't expect. For example, wishing for a year's supply of sushi may net you one astronomically large sushi roll. An eyeshadow palette may provide you with samples of actual colored eyelids. And a punching bag could be mistaken for a bag full of confetti instead.

I've seen something a little like this at home, but usually it's just the ceiling with the stars being projected onto it. This is beautiful though.

Like an illusion? ... That'd explain a few things, at least.

Something like that. It's a whole thing with light, but I'm not clear on the finer details.

It’s.... [ he shrugs ] Strange?

You can see the stars from anywhere. But even though this feels weird and artificial it’s still pretty captivating. In a different way.

[ ignoring his curiosity over what the point of it is, of course ]

Yeah... It's a little weird without the breeze or night air.

I don't recognize any of these constellations so far. I wonder if they're from somewhere the Avatars know?

You could always ask them? Momentary bouts of dry humour or sarcasm aside, they seem willing enough to answer our questions.

Or, they are until they get bored of them.

I'll have to track them down.

Huh, I haven't seen Envy get bored yet.

[aubins]

Really? Wrath does. Very openly, and loudly.

I'll have to track them down. Didn't they say they liked home cooked meals?

I definitely recommend talking to Envy some time.

Personally I'd say who doesn't, but who knows with them. Try it and find out?

Talking to all of them's on the agenda. I just need to work through who and when.

Maybe one of them knows what's up with that clone room. [Unsettling.]

That's right up there in the "things I'm not sure I want to know, but have a feeling I need to know" category.

Right? Until we figure it out, maybe it'd be best to avoid it.

[aubins]

But if we do that, we'll never figure out anything about it. That is if the Avatars aren't willing to share what they know with us.

Fukuda thought it might be hallucinogens. Those are dangerous, especially if we don't know what kind they are.

[aubins]

... Some of them are difficult to detect, that's true. And it's doing the same thing to people? We're specifically seeing ourselves in those tubes, nothing else other than bodies?

[housewolf]

[He nods.]

Even when I'm in there with other people I'm only seeing myself.

[aubins]

Huh.

... That's... weirdly specific. Hallucinogens make you see things that aren't there, sure, but that's a consistently specific thing we're all seeing.

[housewolf]

Hm... Any ideas about what might be happening?

[aubins]

I don't. A hallucination... well, I'd have thought it was something you couldn't control. That's a whole other thing entirely. But we're all seeing the same thing, sort of.

[housewolf]

Something similar, at least... Maybe the bodies are just... like that? Some kinda magic?

[aubins]

An illusion, maybe? I mean it's not my forte, but it'd seem more likely that an illusion could be adapted to each person rather than just making us straight up hallucinate.

You're a mage?

I don't know much about magic, it's not really a thing that happens back home.

[aubins]

Not someone who could use illusion magic, no. I'm not even sure you can pull that out of a tome.

But yes. I know how to use some magic.

That's still amazing. What kind of magic do you usually use?
