Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and it’s the start of a new week!

Good thing, too. After the death of Tartaglia Childe...well, perhaps there isn't any tension at all? Hard to say. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.

Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the eighth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look. Strange things are happening, little sinners. Don't be shy now.

While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.

If you aren't too distracted, that is. For the most part, it may feel as though there isn't anything strange about this week. Everything proceeds as normal and life on the base is calm again. But every now and then, you'll feel a burning in your hand right where your tattoo is as it loses its color and fades to black temporarily. A sudden swell courses through your veins, almost as if being injected with a higher amount of your specific indulgence. You'll find it nearly impossible to do anything else until you act on it, draining the indulgence away and bringing color back to your marking. This won't always happen, and this won't always happen at a convenient time. It may be best to plan ahead. After all...if you ignore it for too long, you may find yourself changing. Those aligned with Envy may find themselves with several new eyes. Those aligned with Gluttony may find claws and a tail beginning to grow. Those aligned with Pride may feel a sharp pain in their head as a crown of thorns embeds itself into their skin. But the sooner you act, the sooner these changes will disappear.

The various possible ways things could end? I don't like 'win condition.' I think that's an oversimplification, as to the Avatars' views. They don't all view it as an either or proposition and neither do we.

I'm not anticipating much either way, but at this point even some general direction would be welcome.

Yes, well. I hope it won't end up as useless as the question we asked about the creature. Let's consider alternatives, too.

Hopefully. If nothing else, it should temper our expectations for whatever we use the third book for.

I get it - I think that the ultimate way for all of us to win is how to get both our wishes and theirs so we don't have to worry about opposition situation? Then we can work together more determinedly?

Precisely. I will say - I've at least spoken to Despair and Pride about their views. This isn't a situation where we will win them over with emotional appeals, and I do not suggest anyone attempt to try, but if we present a realistic counter plan that doesn't conflict with their goals I don't think they'll oppose it.

I understand from others that Gluttony is much the same way. I suspect thinking of things in terms of which Avatars are "willing to help us" is mistaken.

Basically. It's less that they're actively against us, and more that they don't have high hopes in us succeeding. As long as we show results, it should be fine.

Perhaps we could ask about the methods for how to bring all of us home. If we ask about the ways things could end, we could get something like... "With all of you dead," or "With some of you getting what you came for," things like that.

Mm, agreed. I don't want to limit us to any particular outcome, or allow ambiguity as to our values.
