WEEK 0 MINGLE
POPULATION: 37
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base and itβs the start of a new week!
After the events of the day before and the meet and greet provided by four new Avatars, you may find yourself wondering how you can get in touch with them again. Fear not. One look at your handy dandy cell phone will reveal eight new contacts added to your directory. Feel free to shoot them a message. You may be surprised.
But before you get too far, perhaps itβs worth checking out the base once more. Those locked rooms from the days before have been unlocked, free for exploration. In addition, should occupants visit the central elevator they will find the elevator in working order (and flame-free) and that a new floor has opened. Take a look, familiarize yourself, and make yourself comfortable. Life on the base is a happy place.
And speaking of happinessβ¦itβs funny. For the rest of the week, all who reside on the base will be inflicted with little feelings of hope and happiness, a belief that they can manifest almost anything. This week, all will discover that any mundane thing they hope for will be at their disposal...though do be careful. Those small wishes may come to fruition in ways you don't expect. For example, wishing for a year's supply of sushi may net you one astronomically large sushi roll. An eyeshadow palette may provide you with samples of actual colored eyelids. And a punching bag could be mistaken for a bag full of confetti instead.
May all your hopes and dreams come true, everyone.

Photographs. Like, a portrait painting, except its captured in a single instance, and exactly as your real world eyes see it. Excuse me, here -- [ He'll take out his own phone, and snap a picture of Yuri. Then turn the phone around to show him the black and white photo. ] It's not colour, for some reason, but it does take pictures.

... An instant painting. [ also wow excuse me--] I-- oh.
[ he squints at the picture? ] ... It did all this just by pressing a button?
no subject
Yep. Just a single button, captures it just like that. [ Don't worry, he'll delete your picture later. ]

[ also wow, think of the fortune that could be made selling his picture? rude. ] Huh.
.... [ there's some fumbling, and then a snapping sound. congrats steven, he now has a picture of your footsie. ]
You weren't kidding.
no subject
Thanks for the picture of his nice dress shoe. He just looks over and raises a brow, and shrugs. ]
Of course not, I'm genial enough that I won't just pull pranks on you unfounded.
no subject
Well it's not like I know enough to say otherwise. [ there's another flash and now yuri has a picture of his own shoes. wow! ]
no subject
Hey, have a little faith in me. Though maybe one day if we're on the terms for it, I will pull a fast one.
no subject
Generally speaking, the trick is not to tell someone you're potentially going to pull a fast one on them.
no subject
Well, now that you know that it might happen, now you have to gauge when it'll happen.
no subject
That's fine with me. [ assume always. ]
no subject
Well if you have any other technology questions, fire away. Otherwise, may as well continue with your day. Or try figuring out the magic of the vending machines.
no subject
... You could explain how your stoves work, I guess. It would make my life a whole lot easier, for sure.
no subject
If you want? Well, I suppose I've been meaning to have a go at them anyway.
Do you know how to cook?
no subject
Yes, I know how to cook. Using the usual fire stove options, but not... whatever that glass plate thing they have here is.

What kind of things do you eat where you come from? [ Just to see if he can get a vague grasp on time period, or region. ]
