WEEK 7 MINGLE

POPULATION: 18 19

Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and it’s the start of a new week!

Good thing, too. After the death of Tartaglia Childe...well, perhaps there isn't any tension at all? Hard to say. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.

Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the eighth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look. Strange things are happening, little sinners. Don't be shy now.

While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.

If you aren't too distracted, that is. For the most part, it may feel as though there isn't anything strange about this week. Everything proceeds as normal and life on the base is calm again. But every now and then, you'll feel a burning in your hand right where your tattoo is as it loses its color and fades to black temporarily. A sudden swell courses through your veins, almost as if being injected with a higher amount of your specific indulgence. You'll find it nearly impossible to do anything else until you act on it, draining the indulgence away and bringing color back to your marking. This won't always happen, and this won't always happen at a convenient time. It may be best to plan ahead. After all...if you ignore it for too long, you may find yourself changing. Those aligned with Envy may find themselves with several new eyes. Those aligned with Gluttony may find claws and a tail beginning to grow. Those aligned with Pride may feel a sharp pain in their head as a crown of thorns embeds itself into their skin. But the sooner you act, the sooner these changes will disappear.

Dedication's sweet, isn't it? Do try to give it your all.

Do they? How wasteful.

[Hmm.]

What the Avatars are - they're connected to it, somehow, through the recalibration process. If I understood correctly, it's the same sort of combination technological and biological process connecting them to this thing; it may be parasitic.

So I wonder whether it's just unable to consume them outright.

It would harm it if it just finishes them off? Sounds possible.

I was told that the roots that it has planted in this station are the Avatars. It infuses itself into them? So parasitic does sound right.

Ah, hmm. So if those roots were removed, it might lose its control?

[. . . That sounds like she's suggesting murder.]

If whatever transformation they went through were reversed, it could be effective.

Sever the roots, sever the problem, yes. It most likely has other roots elsewhere, but in this station it's the Avatars.

[ Gojou, of course, doesn't assume Harrow means murder. ]

Since the transformations are tied to indulgences, reversing it would also ultimately mean removing a power source for the monster, right?
bonetiddies: (πŸ’€you're so misunderstood)

That sounds reasonable, but you run into the difficulty of how to ensure that doesn't just result with us trapped here and unable to use the indulgence meter or bring anyone back. It would have to be a more coordinated attempt than simply disconnecting it at once, I should think.
