WEEK 4 MINGLE
POPULATION: 24
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and it’s the start of a new week!
Good thing, too. After the deaths of Omi Fushimi, Ashiya Douman and Trafalgar Law, the tension around the base may be a bit higher than it was before. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.
Perhaps you expect this by now, but it seems that the elevator reveals that it may now visit the fourth floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look.
While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.
Unless you're shy, of course. It seems as though your inhibitions are right back where they belong and instead this week seems...normal? Nothing seems immediately off as you go about your day, but the moment you come across another person there's the overwhelming desire to be kind. The larger your conflict is with another person, the more kind you will want to be to them. Insults can't quite make it past your lips this week, and even rude gestures are harder to display. Perhaps your kindness will even manifest in ways you don't quite expect.
Now, now. No reason to be petty.

All I know is it's fancy and rich people pay out of the nose to line their homes with it. But it's a rock so it's going to take a little work.
[ ... ]
... why does this smell like what? [ and then just. unprompted he's going to sniff the tool.
oh. ]
... Oh. Yeah, wow what is that, it smells delicious?
no subject
[She says that in a non-scathing way only because she's forced to. But then she goes to pick up a hammer, and there isn't anything there.]
. . . How are we meant to do this with only knives?
no subject
[ he looks and. he could have sworn there was a hammer? sasazuka sets his knife down to look around. ]
These things are never straightforward, are they?
[ STILL BETTER THAN THE POOP THO SO HE'S ROLLING WITH IT ]
no subject
...
No, that would be too easy. Maybe we'll just have to hit whatever it is we're using with... our hands? Or another tool?
The hammer can't have just walked off.
no subject
[The hammer was sitting out there all along! She picks it up - it's a little heavy for her weenie hands, but it'll do. It does sort of have a pleasant smell, doesn't it?
Ignoring that, she'll do a little test swing against a small piece of hammer to see how it happens. There is an enormously loud fart sound the second the hammer strikes marble. Harrow sort of pauses for a moment, and then apparently decides to just pretend it didn't happen.]
. . . Hand me that chisel, Yuri?
no subject
i'm sorry, but that's still better than the horse poop. so he just blinks, and goes to examine the statue they have to copy as he also pretends that didn't just happen. ]
Do you think we should start from the top and work our way down?
[ is this one of those statues with a dick out. do they have to lovingly carve a dick. ]
no subject
Hm? Sure--
[ he goes to hand over the chisel.
there is no chisel.
he opens and closes his hand a couple of times, staring at it. and then he sighs. ]
Hold that thought, I have to find it again.
no subject
I think so. We'll want the sturdy base able to support anything more delicate. I think the technique is to use the hammer and chisel to remove large pieces, and then carve to refine.
Yuri, the chisel, please?
no subject
[ nice week was a mistake.
on the other hand, there is now another hammer here? he'll pick it up just in case they need it, even if he has to hold it as far away from his face as possible. ]
no subject
[ wow he hates responding like that.
it's fine, there's another chisel here. he'll grab that and hand it over to harrow before they can be any nicer to him. ]
no subject
[So, she'll line the chisel up (with a tiny little squeak of a fart sound when it touches the marble), and - where the fuck did her hammer go?]
no subject
he wordlessly walks over to her to hand her the other hammer, even though he's fully expecting for something else to vanish.
oh. there's the other chisel. ]
no subject
Maybe we should be on the look out for wandering tools while we're at it. Teamwork, right?
no subject
no subject
Let's look around. Over there.
[ away from the farting. ]
no subject
Sure, there's probably a missing hammer somewhere around here. Just shout if something literally vanishes out of your hands, Harrowhark.
[ they'll just. follow the delicious scent of tools. ]
no subject
[She's decided she's going to do this all herself, and is spitefully ignoring all the farts. However she's like. Actually not making that much progress with her wimpy little hammer strikes.]
no subject
he'll be keeping a look out, but he's going to eventually walk back to harrow to check out the progress. or lack of. he's probably standing too close because the smell of the tools is really good even if he's trying to ignore it.]
Do you need us to help?
[ he frowns. he hates nice week. ]
no subject
Yeah, just shout. It's probably better if we all take it in turns anyway -- this seems like pretty tiring work, after all. And there's a lot of sculpting to be done.
[ and takeru is a computer nerd with wimpy noodle arms. ]
no subject
I'm doing well, and am considering the creative flourishes I intend to add to my work to distinguish it from the original.
no subject
[
no one will believe that was what he meant to say. ]
no subject
...
[ anyway ]
Seriously though, let us know? You're doing great [ sweetie ] but it's like a long march, not a short sprint.
no subject
Knife, please.
no subject
but he'll hand one over. actually technically yuri would have the best upper body strength out of all of them why isn't he the one doing this. ]
no subject
and yeah he would. what a great question. so he'll answer it by making a grab for the knife mid pass and smiling. ]
My turn, then?
