WEEK 2 MINGLE
POPULATION: 32
Good morning, starshines. It is another beautiful day here on the base, and itβs the start of a new week!
Good thing, too. After the deaths of Grell Sutcliff, Kaz Kaan, and HK-47, the tension around the base may be a bit higher than it was before. Should anyone try to contact the deceased or review their profiles, they will find that they have been deleted from everyone's phones.
Then again...last weekend was a bit of a mess, wasn't it? Perhaps you would prefer to leave it all behind you. Lucky for you, the elevator reveals that it may now visit the third floor. It may be worth checking out these new areas, free for exploration. If you're feeling incredibly ambitious, you can also take a more in-depth look.
While you can't contact the deceased, the Avatars are once again available via their eight symbols. Shoot them a message, have a chat with them, and see what you can learn. Perhaps you'll find it easier this week.
On the bright side, all of your skills are in working order once again. Cherish your gifts, little sinners. You would hate to lose them again wouldn't you? But even if you did, you would still have your memories of them. Memories are important, aren't they? Things meant to remind you, and things to motivate you. Your most tragic, painful and even downright embarrassing memories shape who you are as a person, and this week you'll find that others will be witness to these as well. This may occur when you're in close proximity to someone, or it may be when you brush past them. Even the slightest eye contact may set off this sharing of memories, and your deepest secrets will be harder to keep.
Hide all you'd like. You can't outrun your past.

they just. look at them?]
Don't... mention it.

...If you don't like a place like this, though, full of lies...shouldn't you just get rid of it?
no subject
no subject
You could at least make a mess. Make this place unusable.
no subject
[they shrug.] If you want to destroy this place I won't stop you.
no subject
[They step up to the wooden altar. With a clawed fingernail, they scratch a hard line through the wood on the side.]
I am not one for making messes. But the thought is...tempting.
no subject
Make someone else do it for you.
no subject
[They look back at Pride, smiling.]
Will you give me permission to? Or should I leave well enough alone?
no subject
But if you destroy the garden I will dump your body where nobody will find it.
no subject
[Douman actually stares at Pride like they've grown a second head.]
Why in the world would I destroy the garden?
no subject
Don't do it. Otherwise I don't care.
no subject
[A light chuckle.]
Did you grow everything in that garden on your own?
no subject
[dryly.]
The garden grows on its own. It doesn't need my help.
no subject
It may grow on its own, but it flourishes into beauty under a loving hand, doesn't it?
no subject
Wouldn't ever describe me as loving, necessarily.
no subject
There's a gift in that, you know.
no subject
Right. Not a gift I have.
no subject
Not that they can answer, but if it really doesn't matter, why water them, and place them in soil, and let them bloom? An average person would let most of them wilt in a few days, unknowing of their temperaments. Don't be so cynical. Recognize what you have.
no subject
I have told them. [they say, quietly.] They grow on their own, and don't need me. They never did. My presence is detrimental.
It doesn't matter. You don't know anything.
no subject
[They actually twirl in place, smiling, before giving Pride a bow.]
"Pride", hm? There will be a time when you will come to truly realize that you are not as replaceable as you think. Think about why you will protect that garden, tooth and nail. Hardly "detrimental", I would think.
no subject
[they sound annoyed.]
no subject
[like dude like who goes up to some plants and basically is like MY VERY EXISTENCE THREATENS YOURS AND I AM DETRIMENTAL TO YOUUU like some emo hot topic goth]
By the by...what's your favorite flower? Do you have one?
no subject
Why do you want to know.
no subject
Because I'm curious, I'm curious! I can't help it! Aah, do you want to know mine? [A beat, and before Pride can answer:] Ah, the higanbana! The "other shore" that guides souls to the afterlife! I do hope you have some. They're brilliant flowers.
no subject
a pause.]
There are probably some in here.
