Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

good evening, good morning and hello! please come join us in the conference room!

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Victims: Kaz Kaan, Grell Sutcliff

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

For a moment, everything looks completely normal, until you notice Envy slumped face-down on the table, bleeding out from a stab wound in the front. Lust is busy putting a pink fluffy towel under their head, Pride is sitting slouched in a chair twirling a knife, and in that moment Gluttony claps their hands together to get everyone's attention.

"If you would please get started. You all have nine fleeting hours to find out what happened, and place your votes."

Hello, and welcome to your second trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. If we can decipher groupings, then it'd help. I got "Sleep Paralysis" - where someone can stay still for an hour.

Do we know if Kaan-san went on a boat?

Hmmm. It's more likely than not, but I can't recall. We were in groups of two or three, so finding his companions may help.

No. ...Grell was with us as well.

Ah, was he with you, Vlad-san?

Then he had the same power I did - to stop someone for one hour. I don't know if we would've thought to use it, but it's better to know what he had at his disposal.

Did Sutcliffe-san go too?

...She did. It was the three of us on that boat.

Ah, so we got different things then. Interesting.

It sounds like it's based on sin.... We should've checked this last week.

[he sighs]

We'll have to check it consistently if we get more.

Would it have been relevant last week? We only got that message after the announcement that someone was dead.

[he tilts his head]

Takeru and I were talking - we were wondering if someone could've used an effect during trial to either incriminate Beauregard-san worse or something else. But we didn't know what other people's effects were, so it was just conjecture.

It still might not've been relevant. But it was still an oversight of something more we could've looked at.

[shiftingwinds]

I see... admittedly, I wasn't thinking much of the other effects. I wondered about if anyone had one like my own - it could have altered the size of the marks we found that were like fists...

[she shakes her head]

But I decided against bringing it up because of the timing. You're right, though; there's a possibility that the behavioral effects could have been relevant.

[aubins]

It wasn't relevant, given the time we got it. And we were struggling enough as it was.

[sengokus]

[he shakes his head]

We don't know that - these could still be used during trial, or any other time, even if they're not used during murder. I'm not sure if anything was used last week, but we should pursue all information that we can once it's out there.

[he felt pretty irritated once he realized he forgot to ask about it. oh blinding rage]

So we do that now.

Focus on the now, instead of berating yourself for things you didn't do before. We know to keep track of it now.

Yeah, that's not at all what I got.

I don't believe each group is guaranteed the same reward, though that doesn't necessarily mean there aren't duplicates.

[sengokus]

[ . . . huh. he looks at the different answers so far - ]

They might be based on sin...?

Could be. Endorsi and I are in the same sin group, after all.

[chevaleros]

Yes, when I received mine it seemed immediately relevant to my sin.

[ so that checks out between her and harrow. ]

It seems safe to assume then that Kaz had something in relation to Sloth, and Sutcliff's was related to Despair as well.

[sengokus]

[he nods]

We confirmed that Kaan-san went. Did Sutcliffe-san for sure?

We don't know if either of their effects were used - but in case they were, we can consider them.

[chevaleros]

[ glances at public log ]

I think I may have seen her while we were gathering, at least. Considering how long the effect lasts though—Despair's effect was 24 hours—we wouldn't see it at trial necessarily.

But if anyone noticed anyone behaving oddly yesterday, it could be a lead.
