WEEK 1 TRIAL
POPULATION: 33
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
For a moment, everything looks completely normal, until you notice Envy slumped face-down on the table, bleeding out from a stab wound in the front. Lust is busy putting a pink fluffy towel under their head, Pride is sitting slouched in a chair twirling a knife, and in that moment Gluttony claps their hands together to get everyone's attention.
"If you would please get started. You all have nine fleeting hours to find out what happened, and place your votes."
Hello, and welcome to your second trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.
Good luck, and have fun!

[ disgusting. anyway! let's say she's looking at the area around the metal pieces too? like, looking at the scatter pattern and concentration, and how deep they're embedded in the ground. ]
Hey, Pride, got something we could use to pick up some of these shards? Thick gloves or some kind of cloth?
[ if they give her something, she'll very carefully pick some of them out of the ground, if she's able. ]

tiny ash pile . . . if he inspects it, can he tell if it used to be anything in particular? What does it smell like? If he looks up he can see where it might have come from - like did it fall from above or does it look like someone just burnt something small here on the ground.
Also is there anywhere in particular it looks like there was a big enough fire for a body or anything?]
no subject
[ That is a terrifying thought.
Can they see anything else from up there or is that everything? ]
no subject
[pride snaps their fingers, and a pair of gloves drop into meg's hand.
there aren't a lot of pieces, but when she gets a closer look, she can see they're sort of jagged in places, and are all different shapes and sizes. the scatter pattern is pretty concentrated in area, with a few strays off to the side. they're easy enough to pull out of the ground, having been embedded about halfway in. the most interesting part about the metal pieces is one of the longer ones that meg picks up is wobbly. flimsy.
the ash smells like fire? but when he gets a little closer, he can see a bit of a small, broken red circle sticking out of the ash. it looks more like it's the remains of something rather than having fallen from the sky.
while he's there he can see an outline of scorch marks in the vague shape of a body, right next to the pile of ashes he's inspecting. nathan can also see this, from their high trapeze.]

Whatever these metal pieces came from, it broke pretty easily. Either of you know anything flimsy enough for that?
[ you get three guesses, and the first two don't count. she's going to keep a couple of the metal pieces, and moves on to check the juggling pins and unicycle. are those all in order? ]
no subject
[He'll just carefully remove that little piece of red circle and hold it up? He can take that back with them to inspect it not in the hell circus. He is not using gloves because he does not understand the concept. What if he eats this too? He doesn't, but it'd be funny if he did.
Looking over at the . . . body mark. Erugh. Anything unusual about its shape or size?]
no subject
[ Since the kill was here and the hoops are here, too.
Time to head on down then since standing around and looking pretty isn't helping anyone. ]
no subject
the scorch marks outline someone laying on their back, head turned to the right. it's about medium size as far as height goes.
nothing with the pins or unicycle!
pride yawns, from where they're standing. loudly, and obnoxiously.]
no subject
Bingo. So they pushed one of them off the platform, and then burned the body to hide the evidence?
[ this is why meg hates heights. moving on! what aboooooout the podium? anything unusual about that? ]
no subject
Looks that way to me.
[JUST ACCIDENTLY DESTROYED EVIDENCE IM NOT UPSET IM FINE anyway
rq rq does it look like fire was used anywhere else like up on the platform or just down here on the ground and -
going over to look at the sword barrel and see if any more are missing and just a quick CEILING CHECK before we wrap this up based on pride's hint]
Don't know necessarily that this and the tea room are related. Gonna have to lay it out all to see, I think.
no subject
Oh hm. That's true, hot stuff. I don't think there's anything else here if Mr. Impatient over there is giving us a hint.
[ Pride, y r u like this ]
no subject
the fire seems to be concentrated right around the outline and not really anywhere else! the sword barrel is missing all but two swords. there were way more than that at the start of the week, probably.
nothing weird about the podium!]
