Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

good evening, good morning and hello! please come join us in the conference room!

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

For a moment, everything looks completely normal, until you notice Envy slumped face-down on the table, bleeding out from a stab wound in the front. Lust is busy putting a pink fluffy towel under their head, Pride is sitting slouched in a chair twirling a knife, and in that moment Gluttony claps their hands together to get everyone's attention.

"If you would please get started. You all have nine fleeting hours to find out what happened, and place your votes."

Hello, and welcome to your second trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

Perhaps it's too predictable a place to stay—too easily found there. Or he may have tried to move to a more defensible location and arm himself.

...It could also simply be a panicked response.

[fluffier]

So ya think someone tried to break into the room? But goin' out would be running right into them.

[chevaleros]

Consider the possibility that all the doors to all rooms unlock after we fall asleep. Given the movements of crimes last week, that seems likely. And otherwise, we could all stay in our rooms to stay safe and the only people we'd have to suspect are our roommates.

[ the system seems to give the murderer enough opportunities to work freely, she thinks. ]

So, presuming Kaz wasn't killed by the people he was staying with... then he probably saw them both fall asleep and realized he was meant to be a victim. In that case, he might have left to try and defend himself elsewhere, or to find help.

[fluffier]

That makes a lot of sense. [ Her brows furrow. ] But that means we can't really tell who did it just by sayin' someone else was with them before they fell asleep.

[chevaleros]

Yes. There is also the possibility that Kaz saw one roommate fall asleep, while the other was still awake.

Just taking a picture before curfew would not be enough evidence of innocence.

[ it just means that anyone could've done it and just gone back to where they were originally staying. ]

We don't know exactly what happens when everyone passes out, so it's difficult to make too many assumptions.

[fluffier]

I guess checkin' the bodies and tryin' to find a murder weapon is the only way to catch the person since we can't trust any alibis.

[ She sighs. ]

But even with evidence from the rooms and lookin' at people fer injuries... we got it wrong last time.

[chevaleros]

We did. [ she sounds none too pleased. ] We only saw cracks in our theories last time at the very end. We'll need to be more diligent.

[fluffier]

Hopefully we learned from our mistakes...

[ Well, Yuel didn't but hopefully someone else did. ]

I'll feel better about my investigative skills when we actually solve anything.

[ this sucks!! ]

[ Puts an arm around her. ]

Me too... we're doin' the best we can, but it still feels pretty hopeless. [ Gives her a squeeze. ] But nothing's gonna change if we keep mopin'. We just gotta keep lookin' at the information.

[chevaleros]

[ yuel is so cute... vira immediately stiffens up, but gradually relaxes. ]

...Yes, last week's mistakes are something we should learn from, not get bogged down in. We'll find something.
