WEEK 1 TRIAL
POPULATION: 33
Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.
Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.
Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.
For a moment, everything looks completely normal, until you notice Envy slumped face-down on the table, bleeding out from a stab wound in the front. Lust is busy putting a pink fluffy towel under their head, Pride is sitting slouched in a chair twirling a knife, and in that moment Gluttony claps their hands together to get everyone's attention.
"If you would please get started. You all have nine fleeting hours to find out what happened, and place your votes."
Hello, and welcome to your second trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.
Good luck, and have fun!

GRELL
no subject
Oh, and also, it's probably a good thing you know who this victim is because her head and face have been reduced to nothing but an incredibly charred skull! But look at that nice smile...at least this skull has all its teeth.]
no subject
Anyway I barely know where to start. Were her clothes burned away entirely or are there still some remnants?
Also I hate to ask this but is the contorted position of the body just because of all the broken bones or does it look like it might be contorted in agony? Like she died painfully. He's looking at the fingers for this in particular.]
no subject
It's hard to say. From a brief glance at the front, her right shoulder appears dislocated. But the contortions look more like...you know...the limbs shrunk down from being cooked.
It should also perhaps be noted that while her glasses are still attached to her person via a glasses chain, they are also broken.]
no subject
Also I assume even if there's enough coat fabric left for there to be pockets, there's nothing to find in there? Or the shoes...
Also by the glasses being broken, is it that the lenses have shattered, presumably from heat?]
no subject
The only thing in Grell's pockets is a pocketwatch which has also gone through a significant burning.
The glasses are broken from being broken as well. The right arm of the glasses is missing, and the lenses themselves are cracked rather than warped and shattered from heat.]
no subject
It seems pretty obvious but he will check the pocketwatch to see what time it stopped? The time of the burning.
He's going to more closely examine the skull to look for holes, and then the same in the chest area. To see if maybe she was stabbed or something before the body got all burned up.]
no subject
The body is, again, very heavily charred, so there is no way of knowing if there are other wounds! The skull is fine though, no holes.
Looking at the front, aside from the dislocated shoulder, he may notice there's a fracture to the right scapula as well.]
no subject
But ok what a specific injury. He will just gently turn the body over To get a better look at the scapula and the back in general. Anything going on here besides lots of charred flesh?]
no subject
Otherwise yes it's a lot of charred and crispy Grell.]
no subject
Otherwise he's just going to look over the arms and legs for anything worth noting besides the burning.]
no subject
The arms and the legs are burned, but otherwise nothing else noteworthy.]
no subject
Also since you noted the head moved he will double check this side and CONFIRM there are no holes.]

no subject
Anyway he will move her body right-side up, try to gently rearrange her limbs to be in a more peaceful position if he can, and then lean down to kiss her charred skull forehead? Please arrest this man immediately.
Anyway then he's going to cover her back up with the sheet. Bye Grell.]
