Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

good evening, good morning and hello! please come join us in the conference room!

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Lust, Pride, Envy and Gluttony patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

For a moment, everything looks completely normal, until you notice Envy slumped face-down on the table, bleeding out from a stab wound in the front. Lust is busy putting a pink fluffy towel under their head, Pride is sitting slouched in a chair twirling a knife, and in that moment Gluttony claps their hands together to get everyone's attention.

"If you would please get started. You all have nine fleeting hours to find out what happened, and place your votes."

Hello, and welcome to your second trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

and land on the couches in the opium den. gluttony emerges up from a shadowy portal in the floor to stand beside one of the couches.

right on the table between the three of them is a chainsaw.]

[ he just hisses when they land, but he'll get up and

uh. hm. get up to walk over to the chainsaw. is it familiar... like could it belong to someone who was just murdered... ]

[ falls directly on her face ] Oww...

[ but holy shit that sure is a chainsaw ]

That definitely wasn't there when I came in yesterday!

[ Her heads whipping around, amazed that she can actually see the room this time. Any signs of a fire? ]

[After a noise of surprise from the fall:]

...Well, that was easy to find, at least.

[Is there blood on the chainsaw? She's also glancing around to see if the room is damaged at all apart from signs of a fire.]

[there is no sign of a fire here, no. amazing for an opium den, honestly. no damage either.

the chainsaw is red, and it's still a little warm. it isn't running, though. there isn't any blood, though there are some prints of it being handled. if they would like to check it, they'll have to lug it back to evidence.]

[ but hm, alright. wait theyre not in the medbay anymore. ]

She might have tried to use it but didn't actually get her attacker? Gluttony, can I have gloves?

It'd have to be someone pretty impressive to get around a chainsaw. Maybe someone with a long distance weapon?

[ She's going to check the opium bricks to see if they're back to normal now. ]

There ain't any sign of a fight either.

They could have used something to clean the blood off the chainsaw, but it would be harder to do that if anything got on the rug or the walls...

[So she'll give both a glance, just in case.]

Yes. [they reach inside one sleeve of their robe and produce a pair of very nice white gloves to hand off to takeru.] It is a rather disgusting thing to touch bare-handed, is it not?

[the bricks of opium are normal, yes. all of them are in place and untouched.]

You just shouldn't touch evidence with your bare hands if you can help it.

[ but he'll put the gloves on to pick up the chainsaw. is there anything weird about the weight or anything or is it just, normal chainsaw weight. ]

They coulda just placed it here after killin' her somewhere else too.

[ She moves away from the bricks, looking at the ground to see if anything has been knocked over. ]

True! Well, at least this gives us somewhere to start.

[She'll wait to see if Yuel finds anything.]

[nothing is knocked over! the room is not bothered outside of the chainsaw just chilling on the table.

the chainsaw is heavy, but not in any unnatural way. normal chainsaw weight.]
