Much like an infant, I don't know that it wants anything, more than to feed and to be entertained.

From what I understand, it could kill us itself, but what it likes is to get us to kill each other. Supposedly, the fact that we were killing one another is what made it active, and also what was keeping it satisfied. But if we stop, it may grow more aggressive.
