checked the scroll today - i think we can all hazard a guess on what "it" refers to.

It was small. No, it was young. It didn't do much of anything in particular. It was hungry, and it was curious. Sometimes, it was angry, like a child would be when they're upset. We could change its mind, distract it.

And then it started wanting to play. It didn't matter what was played. At first. It wanted to play with almost all of us, and then it enjoyed playing with certain ones of us.

It was still hungry.

Then it stopped trying to see if we would play with it, and it made us play with it instead. It was difficult to change its mind. Griffith was probably the first. His heart is in the right place, but his head isn't on the right path to get there. I think he feels inadequate. I think he likes what this thing can do for him.

Since, by then, it started offering us deals.
