Rise and shine, little sinners. Did you rest well? Hope you weren't too perturbed by the events of the day before. Things seem to be perfectly normal throughout your morning, but at 12pm, everyone will receive a mass text message to their phone.

Proceed to the conference room.

Whether you agree or disagree, soon you will find yourself physically moving toward the conference room on the bottom floor, filing into the room and taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs. Two metal boxes sit at the end of each table along with a collection of pens and colored notecards. At the head of the room, Greed, Wrath, Despair and Sloth patiently wait as the TV above them displays a message.

Victims: Vlad Masters, Steven A Starphase, Luca Valentino

Once the last participant enters the room, the door will swing closed behind them and lock them inside.

Greed is seated at the end of the table with a series of papers in their hands. Wrath is sitting sideways in a chair, leaning against Despair, feet in Greed's lap, with their phone out, taking selfies. Despair seems to be holding still to allow this. Sloth is dead asleep, head down on the table and snoring. When some of the last few people enter, they startle awake suddenly with a yelp which gets everyone's attention.

"Ahh, I'm up! Wow, it's time already?! You guys have 9 long hours to figure everything out!"

Hello, and welcome to your third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about the events of the day before! While mini-investigations were held yesterday, today is the day characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, while voting is not mandatory, we do have a voting page should characters wish to vote! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST) if you wish to vote.

[ gu yun's got his black gloves, which he. cannot put on that well by himself, so he's just got one sort of sitting in his belt at the moment in case he needs to actually attempt to pick anything up without dropping a crucial piece of evidence.

anyway. if someone spent a decent chunk of time in the tea room over since it first showed up, would they notice anything missing from the shelves or stocks? gu yun'll start perusing through the perimeter of the room otherwise. ]

[there's nothing on the floor or the ceiling, but since mineo's looking around and actively checking, he will notice there's a small smudge on the doorframe above his head.

gu yun will find that there's nothing missing from the shelves or the stock. how is he wandering the room?]

mineo blinks at the smudge?? what color is it? how big compared to his palm? he's gonna take a picture first before he does anything else, but can he tell what it is?

and is it on the side that's in the tea room or the entryway from the hall?]

[ squints at the smudge briefly ] Would've had to be someone pretty tall.

anyway. he's going to walk to the very edge of the room and start walking down the side of it, doing sort of a sweeping look. molly mentioned the grass felt itchy, so he'll very carefully rustle his foot through the fake grass carpet looking for any weirdness by his feet. sort of in a spiraling pattern, walking around and making his way inwards towards the tables.

they're not in disarray either, right? all the chairs there? ]

[it's a pretty small smudge, it's red, and honestly mineo looking at it might be able to tell it's blood! it's on the inner wall, more on the wall itself than the actual doorframe but it's still close to the entrance.

as gu yun looks around the perimeter, and specifically since he's also checking the fake grass, once he hits the side of the room furthest away from the door he will notice there's something laying in the grass! likewise, as he's spiraling and looking, he may notice that everything looks in order regarding the table and chairs, though from a distance something seems off about one of the tablecloths.]

[actually once he's in and the door closes, is there anything on the door? but he'll actually go and follow after gu yun to check out the thing laying in the grass because he's the hands

[ look he didn't order this time! asking. he will. gesture to the grass for mineo to check out and pick up with his not garbage hands.

meanwhile, he's gonna go check out the weird tablecloth! he can nudge at it, or just pick the corner of it up and drop a couple times it's fine. what's the haps. ]

[there's nothing else on the door! just that tiny bit of blood. mineo should probably be careful because the thing is definitely a scalpel. please don't stab yourself.

anyway, it's pretty obvious as he gets closer that the tablecloth is bloody and also cut up! the table itself has been set, and there are some slashes in the cloth itself along with some stray little pin-like objects mixed in. lifting the corner does nothing since it's just the corner, but now that he's here he might also notice there's another scalpel on the table itself, set up nicely amongst the other cutlery.]

Oh - found the scalpel. Now was it for Vlad-san or Luca-san... Both?

[anything weird about the one in the grass? bloody at all? is it the only thing in the grass? does it look like it's stabbed in or just like it fell? he'll go to pick it up though.]

There's another one here, mixed in with the cutlery. [ is the mixed in scalpel bloodied at all? also, how many people has the table been set for? are slashes just sort of all over the place? same with the blood? are there any teacups at the table with any liquid in em?

also, are the pins like the cactus ones? he's leaning forward to examine them a bit closer. ]

The tablecloth's destroyed, too, and there are more of these pins.

[it's a perfectly innocent scalpel that was just sort of abandoned there. it's not stabbed into the grass or anything. it's also clean!

the one on the table is also clean! the table setting is set for a normal amount of people (what you would normally find upon entering the room), and there are slashes on the tablecloth everywhere yeah. there are also two kind of square-ish shapes missing from the cloth itself. there's no liquid in the cups though!

the pins are in fact cactus needles yes. there aren't any obviously missing pastries.]

[mineo will at least come over then after picking up the scalpel, and then picking up the scalpel from the table too! does anything smell weird around here, sniff check!

[ gu yun's going to just. pick up his numb hand and drop it on top of a couple of those cactus needles. he can't feel it, might as well collect them and bring them down for evidence somehow. wouldn't it be funny if these were poisonous?

anyway. while his hand's there, how big are the missing pieces compared to his hand? are they the same? neatly cut, or look like they were cut in a rush?

the tablecloth is underneath the setting that's destroyed, right? are there any obvious scratches from metal on the porcelain? or is it all just on the tablecloth only? ]

Do you remember how many scalpels there were, when they first appeared?

[sniff check! nothing smells weird! everything seems to be in order in that regard, and gu yun can take the needles and probably not drop dead. the missing pieces are maybe about the length of his hand but they're wider. they look like they were cut out not really neatly but certainly not rushed either, so kind of uneven but not super jagged.

all of the porcelain's fine! it's just the tablecloth on this table that's fucked up.]

We can at least try and find out. Perhaps someone used it as a bandage? [ are those parts where the cloth is cut out like.... salvageable/clean? or does it look like they were removed from places where there might have been blood splatter??? ] Or they could have been attempting to remove the cactus needles? Vlad had little cuts on his arms, if I remember correctly.

[on the underside of the table there's a coupon for olive garden. that is to say, no, there's nothing there, and the chairs themselves are just as empty!

as gy starts checking the other tables though, they all seem in tact! except there's on that seems to have a lump in the center under its tablecloth.]
